Hi All , So its been a few weeks now into this vaping lark, and so far I am enjoying it, much to my surprise, BUT having bought a few tobacco liquids to start off with I was disappointed by the flavor of both of them, they both tasted like sweaty old socks so I haven't bought any more to try as yet, but because I don't like them I am still smoking stinky's when the real urge for one hits me, now having said that, I have cut down more than 50% on the stinky's, plus also what I am vaping at the moment ( a few non tobacco flavors ) I am enjoying them , all the ones I have vaped are 18% nic so maybe I need to go higher on the nic content to help stop the craving for the stinky's some advice off you wonderful vaping experts wouldn;t go amiss here on this one, I guess most people have been at this stage, All help and suggestions are most welcome Mybad.

Yeah, go for a higher nic, you can always cut it with lower nic of the same flavour later if you need to. But it's harder to go the other way! I am back up to around 20mg and am vaping less then when I was on 12mg.

Mybad, if you have cut down your smoking by 50% that is an achievement #icon_thumbsup#
As Lobey & Des says, do up your nic content to see if that will help.
Which tobacco juices have you tried so far?

18mg is not a lot. I found it tough on that; I was used to just 12 rollies a day.

Why do you hope it's only the next level when your smoking? I vape 30-36 mg and have no intention of dropping. But I don't smoke.

I wouldn't like to think that I needed 36mg + to satisfy my nic craving , because the long term objective is to reduce nic until I am no longer dependent on it , yes I am smoking but want to cut them out ASAP but until I find the right level of nic I need I don't think it is possible for me to do so. I know it will still be hard but at least I wouldn't be reliant on the stinky's. Mybad

Maybe even go as high as 30 or 36 mg, Mybad. If you find it too strong, you can cut it with the 18mg juice you have.
Above all though, don't be in too much of a hurry to reach your long term objective - nicotine isn't the harmful ingredient in cigarettes, it's not carcinogenic, unlike many of the other ingredients of cigarettes.

After I started vaping I was stuck on 2-3 smokes a day for about a month. What made the difference was that I got some 24mg juice and when I was desperate for a fag I vaped hard on that until the craving went away. Sometimes I could do so much nic that way that I ended up with a ringing in my ears, but it did the job.
I also want to cut my dependance on nicotine and now mostly vape at 10mg only reaching for higher nic occasionally - but it's no longer a daily need. In fact it seems increasingly to be a response to stress as much as anything.
I reasoned that most of my 30 a day were a behavioural habit and only some were specifically answering the call of the nicotine.

One of the big joys of vaping for me is the ability to tailor everything - flavour, nic level, TH, amount of vapour - to what I need. I mostly vape DIY Bananas & Cream 8mg during the day now, with various 6mg for the evenings. I also have Vanilla Cappucino 18mg for first thing in the morning and Pixi's Vanilla Custard at 20mg for after meals and when the ciggie craving hits. Plus a bunch of other flavours like Afro Dizziac for a change.
I've been vaping for 2 1/2 months now, and it is so much better than smoking in every way. Wish I'd discovered all this years ago!
ETA the whole point of that rigmarole above was to illustrate that just one nic level and flavour doesn't do it for everyone. Get thee some 24, 30 or 36mg and keep it for those ciggie cravings, you'll probably find you use it less and less. And if you don't, it's not a problem. It's not the nicotine that'll kill you. Right now what you need is something to keep you away from the ciggies - once that's accomplished you can start lowering the nic levels. It's not a race though, and if your nic needs remain high that's not a failure.
