Speaking with my RGN hat on,i would bet a lot on the fact that its the steroids causing it,add that to immune suppresants and youre a pretty good bet to get thrush.

Speaking with my drugs rep hat on,do you get your vit D3 prescribed?Or is it over the counter?I only ask as i promote the ONLY prescribale(hence dose guaranteeed) Vit d 3 called fultium D3.

Me as well Chrissie , plus steroids and metotrexate for Rheumatoid Arthritis I rattle when I walk
And the Folic acid to combat the side effects of the metotrexate. and Ive never had thrush , but pain will drag you down if its constant

I get this too sometimes Ripple (yay am 52 too!) and I think it could be combination of steroids and maybe vaping drying the mouth a bit? That's why you suddenly got it after starting vaping maybe?

I found a Fluconazole capsule taken as soon as I feel it starting helps and also using Clorhexadine mouthwash regularly has helped to reduce attacks.

I did get a few mouth blisters when I started vaping too but not now.

It's a bloody nuisance, whatever the cause!

Yogurt and Acidophilus caps did nothing for me, by the way, but they are worth a try, as they seem to help some folks.

52 isn't old,I have to say that I'am 51 in January,cant agree enough about eating live yogurt,for those good bacteria,good luck with this though,wish i could help more

Hi ripple, as you have a suppressed immune system & you're so run down, you're open to all sorts & that's why you have thrush. Good to read that you have some meds left from the bout last year, so can get started.

Any good calling your surgery & asking for a script to be done up for you or if your pharmacist knows you well, will they not give you some?

Sounds like you really are suffering, hope they can get on top of all your problems soon & if not totally mobile, at least more comfortable, as permanent constant pain is bloody horrible. ((hugs))

It's important to keep very hydrated too. As vapers, we all know that anyway, but with thrush you need to keep extra hydrated. I have almost zero immune system as I've got APS (Hughes syndrome) so could easily get thrush, but fortunately, *touchwood,* don't.

thanks been in pain since 8th june and at mo got prob with left pelvis waiting for mri so cant weight bear properly on it and then yesterday the right leg went as well so now im really stuck as l drive an automatic l now can't even get out the house and my son cant drive and my career is in bath xmas shopping and the surgery is shut weekends, so im stuffed as they say till monday so just have to put up with it and hope the weekend goes quicker than normal, roll on jan 11 when l get results of mri and see where we go from there, all this from dam steroids they seem to causse more harm than good to some people. hope you all have good weekend x

went and bought a tube of Daktarin for the thrush, have never used it before but it does seem a bit better but l am drinking pints of fluid and no coffee so hopefully the comb will work.

Well done, Ripple, the Daktarin gel should kick it into touch & give you one less thing to suffer with & worry about & drinking more is never a bad thing either. Enjoy the rest of your weekend & some vaping.

it has worked a treat!! used half a tube inc all through night but it worked only a little area left now so am much happier and selling all my beswick horses on ebay over next hour so lets see if they are as good as this was

Thrush much better and thought l would have a change so am trying the Strawberry (free sample) its lovely and gentle if that makes sense,Femur killing me if l walk so not walking if poss just having a quiet day, sorry to all you that have been rushed off your feet working and trying to sort xmas at same time

I am - just need someone to come and wait on me and cook for me and l will be just about pain free
