Ripple27 isn't feeling at all well at the moment & though I've tried to help her via PM, she not got the brain power at the moment to start her own thread. This is the question she wants to ask -

"Has anyone experienced any of the liquids giving them oral thrush and if so which ones please as l got it today and am trying to figure out why l have checked with the chhemist and its not the meds im on but it is poss its something totally unrelated to the e cigs l hope so !!! "

Poor Ripple hope she is feeling better soon. I haven't had oral thrush so can't help with the question I am afraid

I cant see you can get oral thrush from vaping,unless she shared it with someone that has thrush.Its caused by a fungus and with the heating of the juice i would imagine what youre inhaling is pretty close to being sterile.Not wanting to delve too closely,but the oral contraceptive pill can make you more succeptable to oral candidiasis.

The thrush could simply be due to being run down and unwell. Hope the chemist recommended a good mouthwash to get rid of it

It's caused by a fungus and isn't contagious so it couldn't have been passed from a drip tip - often flares up through steroid medication, I remember a stint in hospital when I was being pumped with the stuff, dry mouth and the like, and then it was as if it was on fire and very uncomfortable.

Without being an alarmist, as it is a fungus..........if there is natural or organic materials within e-liquid then, there is a minute chance.... ???.....but more often than not, it is normally medication, ill health or a weakened immune system or a dental issue that causes it.

If she's unwell and maybe a bit run down, thrush might be due to that. Some medication can make you more susceptible as well. Hope she feels better soon

Eating some 'live' natural yogurt and buying some acidophilus capsules should help too

I have had it a couple of times but it was b4 i started vaping...doc said it was something that happened when going through the change...gave me some antibiotics 5 day course was ok after 3. Not nice.... hope she feels better soon

antibiotics for thrush? I thought antibiotics could be the cause of it? and as it's fungal not bacterial in nature I wouldn't have thought antibiotics would help?

I know asthmatics get thrush because im one, if you use a steroid inhaler and dont rinse your mouth after you use it you can get thrush.

the antibiotics are there to kill the hsarful bacteria in the mouth, thus giving the natural defenses and other treatments a fighting chance, they're can't kill the fungus.

It is mainly steroid based medication that causes it.

Antibiotics can give thrush. I don't know what caused it, but natural live yoghurt could help. Especially if she swishes it around her mouth.

Ps if she swishes it and holds it in her mouth its best to spit it out and eat separate ones

Thrush is not nice & it's common if you've been on certain antibiotics. Wouldn't have thought vaping would cause it. Get some Nystatin suspension, not sure if it's now an over the counter med, but if you get that, it will clear it up in no time.

Thanks Chrissy and all of you for the fast response, at the mo l am fighting 3 different consultants and because l have been on steroids for the past 6 yrs!! l have weakened bone density which is now causing problems for my mobility but they dont seem to think its that important that l can barely walk and when l do l am in agony but its not urgent > so l have to wait another 4 weeks to find out what has gone wrong and if they can treat it. but they have put me on D3 calcium tablets that you chew and l wondered if that was the cause of this thrush but according to the chemist it isn't and everything else l have been on for over a year at least so l know its not that, so as a shot in the dark l thought of the vape and hoped you would all say no one had ever had thrush from it so thanks for backing me on that l wonder if l am just so down with everything that is going on or rather not going on that this is a reaction to the pain iv been in since june and its showing it this way? any thoughts on this would be appreciated as the way things are going xmas is cancelled in this house this year due to me being to ill to move!!!!
