Don't think I'd be parted from my Provari's, but never say never . .. I am very impressed with the Vamo and the co-op Zmax though, which for me because of the build quality come second to the Provari. Where the Vamo scores, again for me, is being able to turn it into a 18350 device, that hasn't cost a huge amount of dosh for taking out and about. If a vw Provari was released for the same sort of price that they currently charge for the vv ,would you buy one, Perps? I've seen the Chinese making huge advances in the build quality of their mods in the very short time that I've been vaping, and that is what has let them down previously. It's like they've finally cottoned on to the fact that us westerners want something that will actually last longer than five minutes and have decided to up their game, something we've also seen recently with the introduction of ss atties. They're by no means perfect at the moment as we've seen with Macca having to kick their arses over various issues, but if they continue at the rate they're currently moving at, if in twelve months they're churning out thousands of units per day of great quality gear at a quarter of the price we can buy comparable units from the US for, then it's a no-brainer for all but the Provari die-hards.

I'm struggling to see anything wrong with the build quality of my Vamo and zmax. Things have come a long way since those first black lavatubes appeared. I can't really see what they can do with a Provari now to keep it's high price point.

Provari build quality is superior and the vape certainly is 'better' somehow, but that may be similar to beer tasting better out of a glass rather than a bottle/can, probably all down to perception.
Vamo is best bang for your buck for sure but I wouldn't be without my provari.

As said the chinese are sussing it and sadly I can see the end of not only the provari but afew other select mods as well.A bit of build quality can be easily copied.

I think the vamo gives a better vape than my provari did Ok the provari feels better in the hand but for me that isn't the main thing to worry about, I prefer a better vape and for me the vamo takes it over the provari

The battery caps is the first place these mods fall down, they are flimsy and the supplied springs aren't of a great quality, in both of my vamos and my Z-max I have replaced the spring with a hot spring. They will scratch very easily and have a lower quality 510 connector. That's what will keep the provari - once upgraded- at the high price point, quality of components- it's as simple as that. Whether or not that will sway people to keep buying them will be down to peoples preferences. But I will say that the quality of the products from china is improving ten fold with each passing month and the current batch, despite the few little flaws I mentioned are fantastic value for money. They work just as well and with vw perform better. I have to say though, even if they make a new provari, I'm really not sure I would want one above the latest mod imports from china. All these devices will be revised and all problems will be addressed, as a result the price will go up slightly but so will the quality of build. I think we are not too far away from a telescopic vamo with a wider tube that will take all battery sizes that sports a sprung center post that allows all atties to be fitted as flush as the user wants with adjustable venting that will allow for airflow control. And it'll remember all the user setting at each battery change. And that is what I believe will justify your point steve, Its where these mods will be in 2013 that will make it very hard to see how provari will keep its price tag.

I agree with the 510 threading on these cheaper Chinese mods, they soon wear down with the Threads. I think they need to look into making that part the best it can be, cos at the end of the day you will be screwing on and off many times and it needs to be a solid thread.

I have never owned or held a Provari, but to me the contest is a non starter, the Provari does not have VW, end of. The thread has been mentioned, I really dont see a problem arising, you should never overtighten an atty anyway on any device. If it aint making contact when you screw it down it is probably an issue with the atty if all your other ones work. The thread is good, never snags, always gonna be lubricated from the odd drop of liquid. Some talk of taste differences, never really did understand that, it is down to your atty and the voltage/power applied to it. E cigs are very simple devices really. A battery , a wick with low resistance wire wrapped round it and some e liquid soaked into the wick. That`s it really. After that you can refine the power with VV or VW. If you always use the same atty, VV is absolutely fine, you will always get the same power applied to the coil to produce the vapour. Once you are passed all that it is down to aesthetics. The Vamo doesnt look that great, not an issue for me although I was pleasantly surprised with the black chrome one when it arrived, much better finish than I expected. I havent had any issues with the spring and I have four slightly different length 18650 batts, including flat tops which work fine. They are all slightly different diameters, but a turn or three of sellotape at the top and bottom of the batteries soon sorts that out, always making certain that the battery is free but not loose in the tube. I am glad to have the option to use the 18350 batts in it, certainly cuts down it`s visibility when you are out and about. Stops you getting arrested for having an offensive weapon But really when it comes down to it for me, VW is a total game changer. It vapes superbly with any atty I have put on it and with no adjustment. I have great difficulty thinking of anything else with a sensible cost that can improve on e cigs now. Maybe the power source is the only thing that can improve. But we need a major technical advance in batteries before that can happen. They simply have to be that big if you dont want to have to re charge or replace the battery all the time. I have 2 3400mah batteries coming, and judging by the 2600 batts I have now, I am certain I will get two full days between battery changes, maybe a few hours more. Give the Provari VW and I may change my mind, but at the moment if the VAMO and PROVARI were the same price, I would buy the VAMO everytime. VW is IT for me. Oh, BTW, there will be a Stainless Steel VAMO listed on Vaporbreak by this time next week, may be a few dollars more, but that is it. The guy can be pursuaded

The SS one shouldn`t scratch easily as the brass based one can. Even the black chrome one appears to be some sort of lacquer, car paint combination while scratching at the inside of the tube. I was hoping it was some sort of heat process. Not sure whether the applied paint had been baked or air dried. It did seem quite hard, so may have been baked. Generally the Stainless Steel one would be difficult to scratch unless you go at it with a brillo pad or abrasive of some sort. I`ll take a look at those links

these threads all seem quite pointless as you cant take the price out of the equation everyone will have their favourite as we are all different
for me its the provari my provari is 18 months old and still looks and performs like new yeah the vamo is a good cheap mod but even in 18350 mode is as big as the regular provari

hmm havnt heard of dinosaur batterys they say theyre based on panasonic and they look like the aw ones as well as other batts that use panasonic cells so they could b good, I'd google that make I guess, first one says its protected tho so itll b a bit taller than non protected ones. It will still fit I think, as the spring seems quite long. All 3 r protected actually, width is 18.5 for the first 2 and aw is 18.52 - I think they should fit width-wise.
