What size knitting needle did you use?.............( I'm making out I know what I'm talking about....... ) No knitting needle. You buy the plastic mesh in a craft shop and cut it with scissors to the sizes you want.(Well actually I pinched mine from the wife's craft box) and you use a darning needle to sew the wool onto the mesh. This mesh comes in different sizes, depending on the thickness of wool you want to use. Tonight I was searching the internet and came across a neat idea for a ProVari (or similar) PV Lanyard. See here;- I have a box of these in my workshop!

That youtube lanyard is what I've b een doing with my Bolt mod for the last 6 months. I use two "O" rings out of a £1-00 for 50 type set and a Doc Martens Boot Lace. Only thing is that the O rings leave a bit of a mark where they rub the mod so I would be wary of using them on the New Provari

Thanks for the warning, but I am none too fussed about marking the ProVari. To me it is just a tool and if it gets a bit battered and scratched, as long as it works, that is all I ask of it.

Until I find suitable material to make a copy of the mesh & wool pouch for the lanyard, I have copied the Utube chappy and used "O" rings which also work well. However, I have worked with O rings in the past and while they are brilliant for the jobs that they are meant for, they can easily break, with no warning, when used for other purposes and so I am using them doubled up for safety.

That's brilliant. I have some rather nice wool (Noro Yuzen for any other yarnoholics out there) that I'm intending to use to crochet a cover for my Vamo. Hadn't thought of using plastic canvas and tapestry wool!

Yes Dizzi, I know of Noro, but don't think I've come across Yuzen?

If you like Noro (which I know is a Marmite yarn, you love it or hate it), you'll like Yuzen Karma. It's labelled as DK but like all other Noro yarns I've met it's slightly fatter than advertised - I am one sleeve short of a sideways jacket I'm knitting in it and the pattern calls for aran weight. It's been discontinued and can be had for piffling sums here: www.blacksheepwools.com/noro-yuzen.html Wool, silk and mohair, lovely stuff. Just don't look at it funny or it'll felt! I now return you to your regularly scheduled vape talk

Disaster this morning!
I came downstairs to find that I had laid a book on top of my mesh and wool ProVari holder and the mesh had cracked across the top strap. Okay it was still held together by the wool, but clearly the mesh is not firm enough to take any abuse. The cracked bit was just 3 strands wide. The 4 and 8 strand sections are all okay so if you are making a mesh and wool holder, do not go any narrower than 4 strands.

Now for vape talk - a felted holder would probably work lobey Get some of that Noro and get your knitting needles out

<<< Get some of that Noro and get your knitting needles out >>> #icon_rofl# I haven't knitted since I was at Primary School and that was "supposed to be" squares for some third world disaster zone and they were all to be sewn into blankets. Mine were not very square!!!!! Anyways I was in short trousers then and I am an OAP now. So while I can think of a few uses for knitting needles, knitting ain't one of them.

At the moment I'm just using the "O" ring method (no smutty remarks please ) and that is good. But it does tend to lie horizontal and I prefer my PV to lie at about 45 degrees.
