Oh yes Chrissie, how do you advise when friend A thinks £10 is a lot of money and friend B thinks £50 is nothing ??? BUT friend A spends £40 per week smoking on a budget. Friend B spends £15 per week on rollies because they go across the water on a regular basis for work and earn loads of wonga. Ironic Friend A is in the money trap and cannot fork out for vaping kit. Friend B isn't bothered, because he can get tobacco on the cheap so why stop. Never mind friend A is getting a helping hand Friend B is welcome to smoke in my house as usual. Nowt to queer as folk

I always Suggest a Riva! That's what you folks tipped me on and I am very happy with my purchase! I am suggesting clearos as well, as I found that besides working just fine they don't need refilling so often (which I think everybody knows is sometimes a disadvantage) and begginers get to see how much juice they have left and feel more in control! It also works greatfor me so.... Afterwards they can go and try new and better (or not) options, but if they don't like or don't get used to it they are always assured. 0o

Having been one of those ciggie look-a-like seekers, I quickly saw the light! Now, my minimum recommendation is a Riva (or equal)... I try to put people off going for the smaller 510 etc. Sean But Sean, we couldn't convince you straight off to go for a larger e-cig could we? Don't get me wrong, I think I would have been the same - just hardly had any choice at all when I started vaping way back in early July 2008. basically had a choice of a super-mini, a mini & a classic pen style - lol, I went for the super mini Was it a waste of money & do I regret my choice - a big NO! Kat, get then to look at my ticker - I set it up to adjust the saving (roughly) to show minus how much I spend on vaping, so it is a fairly accurate saving of over £8.000.00

That was my point hun... but I learned the hard way! Now, I relay my experience and try to steer people towards the larger size of the starting devices. I don't regret my purchases either but some were a step I didn't need to take (and could have avoided if I'd have listened!) :-[ Sean

((((Sean)))) :-*I just wished I'd had someone to listen to way back when I started out Lol, believe it or not back then you couldn't buy e-liquid - well not from the few UK vendors. Oops (((Aldo))) sorry I didn't mean to ignore you - I crossed posts with you Even though I've never actually tried a Riva myself Perpy very kindly sent me her Tornado to try & if I didn't have my GG's & Garry Dibly Passthru, I too would be sticking with a Riva/Tornado/Ego. So yes a brilliant e-cig to recommend to newbies - unless they have their minds made up they want a smaller sized e-cig to begin with

Thats right. you have to get it right for a new vaper on a budget, because there isn't money to throw around if your first choice fails. It may be a faulty atomiser or a battery that needs charging after 20 minutes, but whatever it is, its a failure. It could be like me, and you don't know that you have to keep dripping juice into your atomiser. It sounds stupid to me now, but if I hadn't bothered to ask you guys what the problem was I would have gone straight back to the devil > Your first experience with something is key. I know this because the first time I tried to swim at school, some eejit shoved my head under. I was 7 years old. Can't swim won't swim. Tried with people I trust. Still can't swim. Avoid like the plague in fact. I don't want others to feel this way about vaping.

I didn't really want to give up smoking at all because I enjoyed it although I did have a very wheezy chest and shocking cough. A friend asked if I'd be prepared to try an e-cig and I replied that I would but didn't promise to stop smoking. I tried; I liked; I've not smoked since! I do wish the Tornado-type had been around at that time though as I find it the most satisfying vape of all and it has the benefit of not looking in the least like a 'fake' cigarette. Fox

It's certainly a tricky one with new vapers and what to recommend. Sorry but I would not totally disregard the DSE for some doubtful newbies (after pointing out the drawbacks) and I say this because I personally would never have spent much at first on something that may not have worked out for me.
I didn't know how easy it would be and had to discover for myself what it was all about. Everyone has to get here in their own time!
Oh and well done to ma of Kat, thass just great!! xxx

I've just bought a 510 Titan for No1Ex's OH over in Ireland (Co Mayo, in the countryside and she doesn't use a PC) - she's the one I gave a Liberro disposable to and to my surprise I got told several months later that she thought it was "OK". I'm just hoping the Titan will be a stepping stone but am worried. Still, I get free phone calls to Ireland scylla

I've got one person that insists on telling me that it's about time I gave up my ecig now. Every time I see her she says the same thing, or it's a waste of time you may as well just go back to the fags! She's an ex smoker so you would think she'd be a bit more understanding!

I wonder if there is a touch of envy from the reformed smokers . . . it can't be easy to see someone enjoying all the pleasure and none of the pain they probably went through when packing in.
