Genuine. How do you know?

I bought my first starter kit back in October. Riva 1100. I have had trouble with one of the batteries just a few weeks after getting it and i have noted a few other people on here have had issues with them lately. I need to buy my daughter her first kit in the next couple of weeks, but i am wondering whether there has just been a bad batch of genuine Rivas made or are there knock offs about at the moment. Daughter loves the look of the Riva but obviously i dont want to get a faulty kit.

The whole basic ego/RIVA market is flooded with products from several manufacturer and honestly they are all almost bad as each other save for genuine Joyetech batteries.

Get her a couple of genuine Joyetech Twists from a reputable vendor and they will serve her well..

I buy all my vape equipment from known and trusted vendors.

I might pay a bit more, but I know I am getting genuine gear and I know that if anything goes wrong with it, then it will be sorted quick time.

Vaping is a wide open market and I need to feel that I can trust the equipment and the e-juice that I am using.

Well my take on it, is.... I knew not a lot about vaping, a friend had visited with his kit & that was it. So when I started I hadn't seen any forums to ask advice. The things I did stumble across were darn expensive on the whole too. So the gear I started with, Ego T kit, came from China & it was cheap, I daresay copies, but.....they're still working, I have had no problems with them at all & they are very well used. The clearos were the same & all the talk of leaking etc, I've had no problems with them either & I paid $8 for 7!

To me, it's a case of, you pays your money & takes your choice. Sometimes it's a gamble, but I is very happy, ta!

At least the prices have come down so there is the choice of buying from UK vendors, but do they all sell so called genuine?

I would go with what Lobey says also. I started with the ego-t and got an ego twist and still going strong after 3 months

There are loads of factories that make Riva's and eGo's - good vendors know from experience where to get the most reliable ones from and ensure they have enough extras to make replacements if necessary. This of course means that they are not necessarily the cheapest

I have had Riva's for 9 months and they are still good, bought from a reputable vendor on here.

Having progressed to other kits, I have no problems with the egoC and the egoT but they do need charging up more aften than the Twist.

I agree about genuine joyetech batteries but as for genuine vision clearos, I think they have gone down hill and now some of the clones are actually better.

i bought a Riva 1100 with the 2 batts enc and l thought mine were not working right but was told to wipe the end of the batt and the connection and after l did that they have been fine ever since and seem to last me about 8 hours but then it depends on how much you use them. hope this was of some help and happy xmas etc

I bought the kit from UK ecig store which i thought was reputable. I saw them advertised on here. I did want to get it from Jason but he didnt have the silver colour in stock at the time. Chrissie recommended the Riva so i thought they would be ok.
OH has done alll the fixing ideas such as cleaning it and also raising the pin.
I think i will get her the Joytech and see how it goes.

Dolly, you could have got in touch with the vendor when you first started having problems with the battery, I'm sure they would have sorted it out
