As others have said some web vendors / ebay sellers are a bit greedy with the postage As long as your factor this in on your purchase for total price you shouldn't go far wrong James

am i just being really thick here "probably" or is there not a reason why bottles cant be made flatter, that would save the vendor and the punter, therefore enhance sales. also when a punter buys bigger packages bung in a couple of standard bottles for free so they can decant if they want, we all have i assume heaps of bottle that can be reused.
raggy................
whoops!!!!!! i stopped reading at the second page and someone's already posted this.

All of the Alba stuff goes out signed for with tracking now, hence the price increase. It's £5.94 1st class. I love the guys at Alba, bought a lot from them and they have been good to me but I wish they'd revisit their prices on postage. I can send a £135 mod special delivery for £6.30, £5.94 for a 10ml bottle of liquid just seems crazy I've exchanged a couple of e-mails with Lee from Alba as they're not far from me , from what I can gather he just got fed up with stuff not turning up for whatever reason and prefers to be able to track all items sent ...and that comes at a cost to the customer I'm afraid

It would make seeing which of my 25 x 5ml testers are which, as they do tend to "roll around" in my liquids tray/box At the mo' I have to rotate them round, which is tricky. I could happily spend hours turning them round so they all match up, but that's enough of my OCD.

The cost of postage is scandalous enough without adding extras, What really annoys me, and I think the OP was trying to put across, Is how one vendor can charge RM prices and a few pence and some vendors can add a whole lot more for the same item, even when the item posted is of the same value. There are a few vendors I avoid on this principle alone. OT, eBay is no longer the bargain house it once was, cheap china clones pushed at over inflated prices, thankfully there are a few bargains to be had with good postage rates but they require a good nose to find them.

OT, eBay is no longer the bargain house it once was, cheap china clones pushed at over inflated prices, thankfully there are a few bargains to be had with good postage rates but they require a good nose to find them. I buy some stuff from Ireland. It (they sell) is available on ebay. NOT vaping related b.t.w. It takes 3 days, tops and costs £5.95 for v.big items. Almost too big for the postie to carry. ......and to think, some vaping gear comes from there and takes 7-10 days (w.t.h?) and now we have online vendors expecting close to £5 for some e-liquid. Whoever it was who came out and said "it costs us £2.70"; fair play. So presumably a £1.99 charge is 71p discount and £3.50 is the opposite. I don't mind paying £3.00 split over 3,4,5 bottles of juice, that's OK.

remember RM charge 90p for less than 25mm and £2.70 for over 25mm. an extortionate difference. and it isn't possible to have a webshop that works it out perfectly every time. I don't understand how RM can justify the price difference of an extra £1.80 to send something that's 26mm thick compared to 25mm ??? They should go back to the old way of just weighing things, something that is thicker shouldn't cost more to send when it could weigh less. Said 26mm item could weigh less than a 25mm item which would cost them less to transport yet charge extra anyway.

From my point of view - Before PureVapour opened I asked people what they wanted to see on UKV(wasn't an active member here then ) and the general consensus was cheap shipping or a premium option and that Free Shipping forever would most likely mean products were hiked to cover it sooooo I offer a flat rate 2euro to Ireland and 3euro to the UK and also after the holidays again a premium 11euro to UK next day delivery or 5euro for Ireland next day(can't help the price difference, sorry). I run free shipping the odd time also. It is a pain if you're ordering low value items paying 3euro and I understand this but to do it by weight actually made things more expensive for you guys so to give a sense of knowing each and every time what shipping charges would be with nothing hidden and making it easier to factor into your purchases I kept it at one cost for ease all around.... hope that explains a little and also I did get a good deal with anPost delivery for parcels so perhaps other vendors who charge a lot are actually charged more to ship things so it's a genuine increase to cover their costs?

I do know at the post office if something is borderline on fitting through a post box(and the mock on in the post office here is very slim) there is a big jump in shipping cost.

Hmm Im sure, with a bit of sourcing, vendors can get flatter hipflask/flatter bottles that are under the 25mm guide. The 30ml bottles I got from Epipe mods in the US are 18mm wide and happily fit through a letterbox. ..it would mean a little bit of hassle with rebottling and add a few pennies for the bottles but I cannot see it`ll be that much more. ...and happier customers You can also get flat 30ml cosmetic bottles too.

Postal Charges and bottles are a vendor’s nightmare…. I have looked into flat (hip flask type) plastic bottles that are available, but they not available with the compliant and required childproof caps for the UK.
I have looked at alternative packaging, bottles etc. etc. I have 10ml bottles that will fit in my jiffy bags, and fit through the RM slot. I can get up to 6 bottles (60ml of liquid) in a jiffy and still post for £1.60. but 30ml bottles don’t fit.
That is why sometimes when someone orders say 50ml of a liquid, they get it in 5x10ml bottles. The bottles cost more, the labels cost more, the time and effort filling costs more, but the saving on postage compensates for it.
It is a nightmare, and impossible to put in place a calculating system on most shops that gets it correct every time…. I have tried to simplify it… If someone orders from me, they get the following options for P&P First Class UK Postage Royal Mail- 1 to 6 items £1.60 First Class UK Postage Royal Mail - 7 items or more £2.70 First Class UK Postage Royal Mail (Recorded Delivery) - 1 to 6 items £3.70 First Class UK Postage Royal Mail (Recorded Delivery) - 7 items or more £5.30
It is advertised on the P&P page for anyone to check before they order... But, If any one finds a better way, I am all ears!

I don't mind paying a bit on top as long as they are not taking the Michael. What is more important to me is how a vendor treats me as a customer and a person. If i feel i can have a rappor and trust them i will stick with them through thick and thin. I am very loyal that way, but treat me in an offhand disinterested manner and i will jog on. Plenty more vendors out there.
