I've sent 3 10ml bottles of juice recently, in a jiffy bag for 90p. I taped the bottles together so as it was just the width of 1 bottle and the jiffy bags I have are cheap ones from B&M so i think thinner than the RM ones!

Same here, I want to try swedish fish, but cheapest postage is £4.44 second class, since I don't know if I like it, I'm not about to pay that. Dare I ask....where?.... £4.44. They are getting it badly wrong there. Alba vapours. I'm sure others sell it though so must have a look around. Pity though because they have some lovely sounding juices.

Don't get me going on RM and postage, I could go on for hours > But, most 5ml bottles can go in a standard jiffy as a large letter, no problem. 10ml bottles are borderline, depending on where they come from (the old Hangsen bottles were fine but the new ones are too wide for large letter). Anything above and it's packet size. We do receive a subsidy because we have an account with RM and our volume means that we pay £2.35 for a packet instead of £2.70, but that still means that we subside 60% of order each week. It's swings and roundabouts really - sometimes the customer will lose out (if they order a drip tip), other times they gain (if it's packet size or over £40 and free with us). All I know is that for the prices they charge, the service provided should be far better (and I'm not talking about the posties - more the hierachy).

someone should invest in flat shaped bottles that would fit through RM's tiny letterbox Big items are easy because its by weight even the kitchen scales work! for small stuff RM must be making a killing an extra wrap of the bubble wrap and its £2.00 dearer, they should at least have a standard letterbox for their "test"

I've changed my mind about vendors and the p&p, after reading all the posts. I never given much thought about the outlay and labourer costs, rental for premises and such until now.

All of the Alba stuff goes out signed for with tracking now, hence the price increase. It's £5.94 1st class. I love the guys at Alba, bought a lot from them and they have been good to me but I wish they'd revisit their prices on postage. I can send a £135 mod special delivery for £6.30, £5.94 for a 10ml bottle of liquid just seems crazy

That's just what I was thinking, Lazydog, as I was reading the posts that mention the RM machine, you'd think it would be standard letterbox thickness. You'd think flat oval bottles should work to get through with what they allow though.

Here's a suggestion for all including vendors.. PIP Postal TubesPop the bottle in with some bubble wrap, seal the ends and it'll go large letter..

We've tried them Macca, but the bottle still has to fit in the tube, which is actually thicker walled than a jiffy. So, still a no go for the HS 10ml, but a handy item for anyone who wants to be confident in the size

Hangsen bottles are more squatter, but it'll fit all bottles upto 20.8 mm dia..
These ones have an ID of 21mm..

When we tried them, it meant pretty much forcing the bottles in and the tube length then had to be longer for the safety leaflet and invoice I would use them myself though for home use, because it does remove the doubt.
