So, what have you all got planned for NYE? Are you partying up big time. or staying quietly at home? We usually go up to the Embankment in London as i really love the fireworks and because I have a blue disabled badge i can park next to the Houses of Parliament and wheel off to the disabled area which is a ringside seat right opposite the London Eye. Sadly. this year, due to the car dying on us we can't go. Trying to get out of there at 1am in a wheelchair is far more than i could cope with, so we are babysitting 2 of our grandaughters. I will hate being home though, as i always feel i am missing out on the fun. Still a party girl even at my age

Lived in London for 15 years and never been in to see New Years in due to pain of public transport. Most likely to be a bottle of fizzy booze and then blasting my face off with fireworks in the garden. Planning to avoid Jools Holland on TV

If you are abled to walk ok it really isnt a problem. They reopen the stations at 1am and it is all free to travel on. My problem is having to use a wheelchair. No good on the tube. There is such a great party atmosphere with radio 1 doing the party music right long the Thames. Also, we have been 3 times now and never seen so much as an arguement between revellers. Even the police seem to grow a sense of humour. When we lived in Sydney we used to to to the Opera house which was spectacular, but i always feel the brits do it better.

Disabled facilities on pub transport in London are poor and inconsistent so I can sympathise. I would have 2 kids (7 and 5) on me own ... doesn't sound appealing ...

I'll be seeing in the new year on stage at a club in Leeds, dressed as Cindy Wilson from the B52s, complete with big platform boots and a wig with a massive beehive! Slightly daunting as it's the first gig with this band and we'll have an audience of about 500, but I'm sure it'll be damn good fun!
Hope everybody has a good evening, whatever they end up doing (don't blow your face off Ashmal!) and that 2013 is a great year for all of us.

I went to Trafalgar Square when I was 18, most frightening thing I've ever done, people everywhere pushing and shoving, areas blocked off, police everyone, never again would I do that, it was a few years ago now and I think they've tightened up in safety etc

Will be staying in, having a glass of something whilst watching the London fireworks from the comfort of my armchair. I will have already stood at the window to watch the village fireworks an hour earlier though.
