evening all
in my last thread I explained how thrilled I was having just taken delivery of a Riva to replace convoluted.
2 days in and I simply cannot believe the difference between the 2 and I'm so glad I joined the forum and sought advice otherwise I would still be back in the analogy world.
however I now have another query.
in my mad rush of excitement on Friday night I filled 4 of my new cartoonists with samples of liquids that I thought I would like but don't and would like to empty or clean them out.
on previous wanderings around the forums I seem to recall reading something about boiling them but can't for the life of me find my way back to the post - either that or I' 've overdone the vaping with my new best toy and induced hallucinations!

Erm I don't think you can clean cartos I may be wrong tho. I never have. Just re filled with other flavours and cope with dodgy mixes till the new one takes over.

Cartomisers are difficult to clean out. You could try boiling them, then drying them out!

Do you like menthol at all? A few drops of menthol in them will overpower what has gone before and will be vapeable so long as you like menthol! A strong caramel can sometimes work too

before you try boiling the cartos, just try blowing out as much juice as possible. Blow from the non thread end while holding a tissue over the thread end. Then add a few drops of different flavoured juice - you might actually quite like the mix

I don't know if it's any use, but I washed out and dried a 5-pack of brand new cartos two weeks ago. The newer they are the better the chances of success i.m.o.

I've read all sorts, and t.b.h. most stuff never worked for me. Getting out Grandmas turkey baster or setting yourself up in the kitchen with syringes and implements suitable for warfare-standard torture is a waste of time.

I filled up a bowl with hot water, soaked them for a few minutes, blew out the liquid, repeated in fresh water, blew out the liquid x2 or 3(?) then took them out, gave them the last blow-out and dried them on the radiator.

I reckon they were 80-90% as good as new, without the horrible pre-filled liquid. If fresh liquid makes a difference, I don't know.

Not as bad as "pringles" coming out as "pregnant"....

well here goes....
cartomisers washed, blown and drying on radiator with a little grief from swmbo about it being ok to put the central heating on when it suits me but she has to wrap herself up!!!
will post an update tomorrow. there was an old song called does your chewing gum lose its flavour on the bedpost overnight - hopefully this can be renamed your cartomiser loses its flavour on the radiator overnight!
