After trying out all sorts of things, from various Stardusts to a Vivi Nova, I keep going back to std resistance Boge cartos. Simple, work and taste nice. Only problem is that whilst the batteries in my LTs will last hours, I can puff a carto dry in what seems like minutes. So a solution seems to be a little tank like this www.vapegear.co.uk/product/stdtankA little prongy hole maker like this www.vapegear.co.uk/AGS_Cartomiser_Punch/p1826719_8386924.aspxAnd some silver SR Boges (I normally use black ones as they're more comfortable on the lips.) Looks simple enough. So my questions - Firstly do they work? Any serious downsides - like leaking - it looks like the carto just pokes through rubber seals.? Do they change the taste? Any other comments appreciated.

I can only comment on what I purchased ( wee boaby - alba vapour)
yes , they work very tight to get first carto in no they don't change the taste
very pleased with mine , only topping up once a day so saving loads of time fiddling with cartos

Fagin I was on these for 15mths and had no probs what so ever, all i would suggest is that if you can drill a small hole 1.2mm in the carto if you can as some punches distort the carto and this makes refilling them a pain however recently i decided to try the vivi nova.........wow so much better

I've not tried those particular carto tanks, great price btw! The ones I have used haven't leaked. The taste is just the same as using a carto, but less chance of the terrible burnt carto taste as the tank of juice keeps it wet. With these type of carto tanks, get a ming shaped drip tip, it keeps it more stable, the casto can't really slip then. Can't find any on that site, but this is the shape you're looking for www.vapeescape.co.uk/510-vase-drip-tips~451

just remember to chamfer the hole as any sharp bits will ruin the seal

So you'd say going from Vivi Nova to DCT is probably not the best idea.

I use a bench drill & jig, the casing on the cartos is quite tough, using a knife is definately a no-no, i've heard of people using hammer & nail but i'd probably end up destroying the carto if i tried that. I've never heard of the junior hacksaw trick but i can see how that would work.

Personally i think novas have the edge as they are faff free even though cartos/tanks are straight forward, also i think i get a little bit more flavour from novas not a massive amount more but the juice does taste a little better
