#icon_dance# Wahoooooooooo! My Perps vanilla custard now completed & steeping!

Just the Capella's banana to arrive now & then I can try Steve's banana custard.

Don't think I'll need the tissue or kitchen roll now, ta, as I have some of Frogster's egg custard tart & GVC already steeped & vaping wonderfully....yum!

I hope the Banana is here today too to add it to the VC, Perp helped me last night and suggested that the flavourings maybe are supposed to be 10% each, so I've made mine that way, rather than the 20% each that Steve put in his recipe ???

Hey everybody, I'm not sure if you are aware but I just wanted to let you know that Capella's VC has been lab tested and if you want to completely avoid diacetyl you shouldn't use it.

Thanks for your response Wizard, I also do not want to be a guinea pig that's why I stopped using it. I also found out on the other Forum just a small peace below did not want to list it all.

“Research – We purchased a bottle of Vanilla Custard from Cappellas and had it shipped directly to a flavor analysis company. We requested testing for three ingredients, Diacetyl, Acetyl Propionyl and Acetoin.

The response we received is as follows.
“Good evening, Kimberly. Your check arrived today and thank you. Diacetyl, 2,3-Pentanedione, and Acetoin are all present in the Vanilla Custard sample that you sent. Just a very small amount of diacetyl, however. Let me know if you need anything else. “

That's worrying. I have some Vanilla Custard steeping. Think I'll dump it now. Thanks, Nexpax, for letting us know. I didn't read the full thread on the Vapeatron link because it seemed to go off in a tangent. Is it just the custard flavours that contain diacetyl, or is it all Capella's flavours?

Also most research labs adhere by tolerances which is .4%. an Indication of <0.4% means there are not traces of dycatel. If there was indication would be >0.4%. The only reason i know this is my friend has his own energy drink out there and his chemist lives right by me. I talked to him about it the form and from his perspective there are no indications of Dicatyl in there. Im not hear to say Caps is better than TPA or anything like that. I do know that a lot of my TPA flavorings are still sitting in my unused box due to tasting like chemicals or perfume. I have yet to have a bad flavor from Caps. Not to mention since using Caps DIY just seems too easy. Now Im not saying I just use Caps either cause there are some flavorings I use from TPA, FA and few others. All i would say is research the stuff you are using if your DIY and make your own judgement.**

Confused is an understatement. Nowadays the only time I feel the urge to smoke is when I'm researching vaping equipment and flavours. Think I might dump the custard mix anyway because I'm sure the guy on the vaping channel (can't remember his name) said something about avoiding all custard flavoured juices. Better safe than sorry.

I had already read up about it & it hasn't put me off enjoying the custard flavours at all. I smoked before & look at the harm in that. I only took up vaping, not to give up smoking, but to cut down & save some money, as it turned out, I enjoyed it so much that I gave up the cigs. I'll continue, but thankyou.

Hi all just thought I would share the results of my first attempt at mixing my own e-liquid.

1. Bought all the recommended products for Perpy's VC
2. Followed recipe to the letter
3. Particular care taken in exactly diluting EM, vanillin etc. and measured all ingredients with the array of syringes/pipettes etc. I had bought.
4. Added the prescribed flavourings drop by drop, counting all the way.
5. Dropped the e-liquid bottle on the floor (before shaking) and lost 1-2mls of I don't know what!
6. Steeped for the recommended 3 weeks, not, (well had to try after 3 days)
7. Tastes not bad at all - not as good as some of the professional ones but not as bad as some I have tried.

I thought this might inspire and reassure those of us who are new to mixing - don't panic if you get it wrong try try try again - but sometimes things work out anyway.

It'll get better with some more steeping as well Mags, after 3 days it still tastes very raw to me, the longer you leave it the better really.

As for everything else, I have no intention of stopping using any of the custard type flavours I enjoy, it's up to everyone to make their own personal decision on their usage, as they did with smoking cigarettes.

I'll buy your Capella VC concentrates from you Addict rather than waste them.

About to try the wife on PVC (only one week steeping but it tastes gooooood) with the new e-cig I bought for her.

Fingers crossed she doesn't take to it so I don't lose my Provari, Penny, Roller, Chody, Cube, etc...
