Yes, dismantle it to simmer Trish . . . the milk absorbs the nasty machining oil/gunk/taste, you might have to do it a couple of times if it's especially bad.

Or leave it to soak in some bicarbonate of soda if you have any.

Its more that I bought a Zalaros SS drip tip which is polished, so I have a brushed Spheroid and a polished tip. I have now got to work out how to turn a polished drip tip into a brushed one.

Just use some Scotchbrite by 3M for your driptip to take the shine off it, spinning it in a slow speed drill will keep the pattern even.

Mine arrived too! As this is my first 'build anything ecig' I'm well impressed. The screw tread is a little tight, I think some Vaseline will do the trick? However, I'm sure it was beginners luck. Scotts video was great helping me set it up. I used what came with it and it's good, is there anything I should consider beyond this? A trip to the aquarium shop for the Blue stuff?
