Those Elephants

Poachers killed 12 elephants for there tusks cos some chinese fuckwits think it makes them a better shag, FFS, makes my blood boil, and anybody that could afford such ahem luxury's must be quite inteligent one would think, but obviously not. Why would you want to wipe out one of the most beautifull and impresive, kind animals there is defys belief, here endeth the rant

I couldn't watch it. This is a difficult subject as I'm a meat eater and don't want to sound hypocritical but to kill any animal purely for self image (i.e ivory ornaments or fanciful medicines, fur coats etc) is to me, abhorrent. Plus the way they were butchered and just left when the poachers got what they wanted makes me sick.

As I've said this subject is full of contradictions. We kill animals to eat, but they are bred and sustained for the purpose, and (hopefully) humanely despatched. My own justification for eating meat is that these animals would not have had any life if they'd not been bred for the purpose. This does not apply to elephants and the like where species are dying out dramatically.

I find it difficult to sometimes argue the case for meat eating, if I had to work in a slaughter house, I'd probably stop. But, in that case, why were animals put on the Earth? Having said that there is no justification for killing any animal just to put an ornament on your wall or coffee table.

I hate seeing and reading thing like this, its so sad , should be a death penalty to people who harm or kill animals. animals should have the right to live as we do , we all live together on the same planet ffs .

I feel those meant to be protecting them, and paid for it, are not doing their job at all i'd sack em and get someone in that could protect them, the cost, how mutch the cost when they are no more?

I couldn't watch it either. I know my limit when it comes to these sorts of things and I get SO upset it stays with me for weeks

I find it heartbreaking that people can put money before the life of another living being. It makes me ashamed of the human race.
