Hi all
Would like to pick your brains a little, if I may.
I have been vaping for ten months now (love it and don't smoke normal fags at all any more). When I did smoke the dreaded weed, it was always outside, never in the house.
Now that I am vaping, I'm vaping inside our home.
My OH has had very, very mild asthma for a few years but since last July it has been much more severe.
We are now both wondering if the vapour has made his condition worse.
Anyone with an OH who has asthma which has worsened since you've been vaping inside?
Thanks all.

As far as I am aware the carrier we use for vaping ie pg or vg is also used as a carrier for asthma inhalers . I don't have a partner with asthma , maybe someone who does could enlighten us all a little more.

My OH has asthma and like you I always smoked outside, also never in the car etc. When I first started vaping I didn't feel the need to go outside anymore, but I wouldn't while in the same room as him. Now however, vaping away happily while he's around and also in car, with no ill effects.
Would probably be worth your OH getting his worsening symptoms checked out as might be completely unrelated to your vaping.
ETA just had a thought, might be he's sensitive to PG or VG - I guess that could make it worse

I have asthma and I vape, my OH has asthma and he doesn't vape. He says his asthma has been better as has mine.

A good friend of mine has v mild asthma, she can't tolerate vapour at all. Feels like her airways are closing up, starts coughing, really doesn't like it. She has the same response to foggers and smoke machines at shows. Problem with PG I guess. Thats just from being by me vaping, not from direct use.

Thanks for your replies. It might be worth vaping in another room in future to see if that makes any difference. So many things can trigger an asthma attack, I hope vaping isn't one of them for my OH.

I have asthma and so does my OH, vaping has no effect, maybe down to the weather it being damp and cold, Asthma has been a lot better since we stopped smoking, and less visits to A&E.

My GF has asthma and is not affected at all by my vaping, she would kill me if I started smoking again though so it would severely affect my breathing

I am asthmatic and again it's been so much better since I stopped vaping. Every time I used to catch a cold it would turn into a chest infection and end up with an asthma attack or 3 and often end up admitted to hospital. Since I stopped smoking I've only had one cold and whilst it was a nasty one and left me with a cough for a few weeks it was a normal persons cough that everyone who had this particular cough had without any wheezing let alone an attack and no infection either!

I'm also asthmatic and have gone from using one spray a week to one every two months, since 2009. So no problems here.
