Hi everyone! I've recently bought a pack of 510 cartomisers from James at PV. They're dead good, only trouble is, they get really hot during use! Would a whistle tip solve this problem and if so, where can i get one from? (or even better has anyone got a spare that they can send me please?) Cheers, Mik.

Most drip-tips will fit - just pop out the end cap and replace with d-t Nearly all the suppliers do them now - you'll need to decide what "mouth feel" and shape you'd prefer - Delrin for plastic, or anodised aluminium in lots of colours, or steel - most are rounded mouthpieces, the whistle-tips are more expensive, they're stainless steel and there are not many of them around. James @ Paradise Vapes does them, see the top item on this page: paradisevapeuk.vstore.ca/product_info.php/pName/colourful-drip-tips/cName/diy-accessoriesscylla

Thanks for that Scylla. Although, having had a bit of a search on the 'net and the forum, i don't think it's a drip tip that i need. Would the tapered tip from a 901 cartridge fit? If so, i'll get some empty carts (black, to match the Riva) and i'll be sorted. Cheers, Mik.

Hi Mik,
Not going to be much help with this one as I'm not a cartomiser user so hope others will come along to help:) But more than happy to send you a blank 901 whistle tip mouthpiece for you to try if you like - just PM me your address.
Scylla is right though in recommending using a drip tip to use with cartomisers.

Mik, you need the drip-tips because they have a silicone band around the non-mouth end which keeps them snug in the carto (or whatever atty you're using). It would be more difficult finding an ordinary cartridge to fit. scylla

Thanks for posting that Scylla I had a feeling that a standard cart wouldn't fit a carto properly. It's Saved me rummaging in my cupboards to try & find one of the very old dead carto's to try it out on Mik, from what Scylla has said, it would be pointless me sending you a blank 901 cart - more than happy to send you a delrin drip to try though if you like?

I've found that even the drip-tips can vary in diameter, as can atties since so many different designs have come on the market, though I didn't have any prob fitting the regular cartomisers 808/901 & 510. My XL clearo is too narrow to take anything but the little rubber mouthpiece that comes with it, but the standard clearo (not recommended cos it takes so little juice) takes a drip-tip fine. Drip-tips are usually very comfy to vape with, Mik scylla

Hi Mik,if you pierce a hole in the end silicone cap the cartomizers come with and put it over the mouth piece it wont burn you.Not the most attractive thing but it works. NNN xx

Thanks to all for your replies and advice. I dug out all my old e-cig stuff and found a Swevan Zigs 901 mini e-cig that i was sent free with some juice. It's got a two part flattened whistle mouthpiece that fits the carto perfectly, i just discarded the brown plastic piece. I have only got the one so i'll probably go with the drip tip idea eventually. Cheers, mik.
