Can somebody help me with the maths involved with this mix please? I have 10ml @ 20mg of homebrew 70/30 vanilla flavour mixed. 3.7ml PG @ 54mg 2.8ml PG 2.5ml VG 1.0ml Vanilla flavour I want 20ml @ 20mg homebrew 50/50 vanilla flavour. Now I know I could just start from scratch but that would be far too simple and also waste the mix I already made. Maybe it is simple, I am usually pretty good with numbers but I have a headache and I'm not in the mood It seems logical to just make 10ml @ 20mg of 30/70 and combine the two mixes? But something is bugging me about that. I have looked at several calculators and not found one that can incorporate my original mix into a new mix. So if you KNOW how I do this please help!

Your own solution is correct, but it depends what type of nic you have (pg or vg), I have a feeling that if you have pg nic you wouldnt be able to get a 30/70 ratio.
Now you have me scratching my head, you may be able to do it
Nope cant do it, you need VG nic, highest you could achieve is 47/53

Thanks for the quick replies.
It has to be do-able, it's only maths!
I can make the 30/70 mix by dropping the nic to 13.5mg, but how much do I up the 70/30mg strength to compensate?

It cant be done without lowering the nic strength.
As all your flavourings and nic are PG based

Bearing in mind that I'll be mixing this with a syringe which has the numbers rubbed off I am sure 47/53 would be close enough.

Just a note here, my flavouring is water based.
How is it then that I can make 50/50 with what I have but not if I wish to utilise my dodgy 70/30 mix from earlier?
Logic tells me that if I add nic to my earlier 70/30 mix to compensate for the 13.5mg in the new 30/70 mix then I should be able to get close to 20mg?
Or maybe I could just make up a hundred ml of 50/50 and throw 1ml of the trash mix in? Would be hard for CSI to even notice the nic drop! lol.

If you made a fresh mix with your current ingredients, and keeping tha same flavour and nic strength the highest ratio of vg you could have is 53% and 47% of PG, adding this to you original mix wont take your original mix to 50/50, but closer to 60/40. Bear in mind that you only used 10% flavour too, so with a normal 20% flavour mix it would be even lower vg.
Adding nic to your original mix defeats the object of balancing the pg /vg because whilst increasing the nic to compensate you are increasing the pg and also diminishing the flavour
This is the sole reason I buy VG nic, it allows me to go as high as 20/80 pgvg on a 20% flavour ratio.
Hope this makes sense.

1.74ml PG54mg 2.49 VG 0.47 flavour (10%) 0.81ml your premixed 70/30 flavoured TOTAL 5.51ml 50/50 20mg.
Someone needs to check my maths but hardly worth it to use 0.8ml of your premix. Just start again and you can make a max of 5ml, easy as is double your amount of VG.
EDIT ---- SCRAP this as flavouring is water based. ARRRRRRRGH!

All constraints are being changed, only minimally but that wasnt your original question, to stay at 20mg strength and 50/50. But honestly for the sake of 20% vg, id throw it in the bin or suffer it, good luck with measuring any of those measurements on a syringe with no markings

It does make sense, thanks and I will be getting some VG nic when I have the cash.
The two calculators I use both tell me 50/50 is possible with up to 13% flavouring, although I'm not worried about the flavour right now.
eJuice Me Up V11 and E-juice Calculator v13. I'm not saying they are right as they don't have any rounding data available.
Or it could be that I'm using them wrong, lol

Youre using them correctly but it depends how far you want to wander both flavour and strength wise, I think those two constraints are far more importang than the vg /pg ratio, especially as were only talking 3%. Adding so much water only adds to the confusion if youre trying to balance a bad mix.
Best bet is to have a bottle of each typ of nic and depending on youre ratio requirements you have all bases covered, even using water.
