Another quick question

If I taste a burnt taste even if my cartridge is full is it a sign I need to clean my atty? If so is rinsing it with warm water ok and do the job?

Burnt taste in a full cartomiser means the atomiser bit is dead/dying.

Burnt taste in a full clearomiser is usually fixable unless it's really done a lot of liquid.

If you are using a cartridge + atomiser set-up, I'd say it's almost certain the atomiser is on it's way out. They don't take too kindly to water if I'm honest. I soak mine in Vodka overnight. You can sometimes dry-burn certain types.

I think it was someone like grimgreen (u.s.a vaper) who said he only Vodkas them to clean out old liquid etc.

if you are running variable voltage make sure you havent got it set too high

It's not variable. I did fill the cartridge up a bit high on that occasion could this be the possible reason otherwise it seems to be ok since.

Lozzy, it was the Riva 1100 you got wasn't it? if so, I guess you mean cartomisers rather than cartridges? I know it's so confusing the name being so similar, but cartridges are used with a separate atomiser & I don't think that's what you have.

With cartomisers, it's best to fill them up to start with using the condom method -



You then need to keep them topped up - a burnt taste usually means they have got too dry.

Dry burning is something people do with clearo type set ups Lossy don't see why you couldn't try it with your attie, just burn it without any cart on it until the wick glows red.

Or you could try soaking your attie in vodka or cheap steradent tablet!

Thanks Karma just youtubed it, rinsed. So far so good, will know for sure by the next hour! I boiled it earlier don't have any vodka, it worked at first like now, but then soon went back to the burnt taste! Driving me insane!

No I don't! Was going to order one, but because I've decided on getting the riva I didn't bother. My mum is giving me her card to order one tonight! Can give it to her on pay day, getting sick of my battery running out and the burnt taste, and now want a real cig lol. I'll order another atty for my titan so I have the two to switch between. No doubt Ill be asking loads of questions about the riva next!
