Hi All, Not sure if this is where I should post this question, but here goes and if it's in the wrong thread/forum, I apologise. I've been off the roll-ups and vaping for 3 months now, feel great, breathing, smell and taste are all clearer but one thing puzzles me....I anticipated a spell of coughing up gunk...approx 28 years of tar (you know what I mean).....but nothing! Has anyone any logical answer, or any answer or ideas? Any opinion appreciated. Cheers Linz

I smoked rollups for 23 years, been vaping for 3 months, had no coughing at all. Saw doctor last week and asked him about it, he said, cigarette smoke is an expectorant so when we smoke we cough up shit. This is why in days of yore they thought smoking was good for you. So, basically, because we are no longer smoking, it takes the body a helluva lot longer to get rid of the gunk. Wait until you have a bought of sickness like flu or whatever, then the gunk will clear.

Either you were lucky or you still have it to come. I didn't cough much, just a bit phlegmy. I suppose no 2 people are the same.

This is the second (& hopefully last time) I've stopped smoking. The first time I was on standard ciggies & used the patches, definitely had the phlemgy cough after about 3 weeks.
This time I'd been on rollies for about 2/3 yrs & no phlemgy cough, at least not so you'd notice, so may be the baccy has less tar, or maybe because rollies are a lot smaller compared to a standard kingsize.

Maybe the lungs have their own way of clearing out the tar other than by coughing it up.
You said it yourself, your breathing seems clearer.
However, if coughing "rocks your boat", you could always go back on the fags!!! #icon_rofl#

No chance of going back on the fags....unless e-cigs are banned and taken off the shelves...OMG hope it never happens!!

Linz, glad to hear it! be happy that you don't cough, it's a mysterious blessing!! i never had the 'coughing yer guts up' thing either, even after moons of rolling. was actually quite disappointed in a way!
