Proboards V5 coming to a forum near you soon.

All your accounts will migrate - including your post counts, join dates, avatars & signatures However, when you log in, you will be directed to upgrade your account to a global account.

There will be a new facility to create & use a proboards style avatar, or you can add them in the same way as here - i.e. using the direct link in photobucket.

Skwoddy, I'm fairly certain that when you registered with Proboards support, you would have created a global account.

everything should migrate but not uncommon to lose a few,so if you have anything you know you want to keep i links back them up on the safe side...

As it for being more mobile friendly, I can't answer that at the moment as I hardly ever use a mobile due to bad signal strength where i live Hopefully though, some of the forum moderators will be able to answer that

I'm sure you meant NO signal whatsoever , especially on O2 , don't forget Chrissie only a couple of glasses of wine and an early night Wednesday night you need to be up bright and early to roll out the new forum

I'm sure I speak for us all here when I say a huge thank you to you and all the other Admins for keeping this forum rolling along so smoothly; a friend is the Head Honcho on another (totally unrelated) forum, and I know just how much time he has to devote to it to keep it running.
Lots of coffee, a freshly charged battery and some of your favourite juice will all help Thursday morning go like a dream!
I can't wait to check the new look out when I get home about 21.00 that evening!

Thanks everyone I've been working on trying to make the upgraded look as similar to the current one as possible. But there will be some changes & so many better functions

Raggy, here is a thread (with video included) about global log in -

But it's now fairly simple (unlike when I moved to it a couple of months ago when it was still in alpha version). So all everyone will have to do after the forum has migrated is -

- Login with the same username/password as you do now.
- You will then be directed to Upgrade your account to a global account & enter a a new password)
- Make sure you tick the "remember me" box - that's it - you will then be globally logged in

Well, you learn something new every day! I had never heard of Proboards until I read this thread. I'm a member of a few forums. I wonder if there's some way of figuring out whether they are part of Proboards or use some other system?

You shouldn't lose any PM's but with any kind of migration, things can go wrong, so it would be best, to be on the safe side, to save any of your PM's that you don't want to lose.

Addict, if they are hosted by Proboards, they will have "Proboards.com" in the browser address, unless they have paid for a redirect domain name (something I'm thinking of doing after the upgrade).
