Due to moving house and selling my car I thought I would order my groceries online since it's cheaper than using a taxi.
I made the order on Wednesday and booked it for today (26th) between 3.00pm and 5.00pm.
6.00pm came... nothing. looked online it just said processing. I thought to myself (since I'm a delivery driver myself) they are probably struggling on the back roads with the snow (even though I didn't have that many problems with my 80+ drops this morning.
7.00pm came... right time to give them a ring... I was greeted my an automated message which said they were busy and call back later then the phone was disconnected.
I've rung and rung and rung... all on a mobile phone at 20p a min for a 0800 no (I have no land line)
The site says if there is a problem, they would contact me yet I didn't even get an email.
9.30 I have rung again and finally got though into the waiting music.
10.10pm and I'm still waiting to be answered
The site now says my order has been rejected with no reason given!
I am (excuse my French) ******* FUMING! and if and when somebody answers they are going to know about it! I am going to be as nice as I can with the person on the other end of the phone as I know it is not their fault but I am going to be out tomorrow (church, mum n dads etc) and wont be in until late. We have hardly any food in the house and because I have sold my car, it will cost me at least £10 to go shopping!
I understand that the order might have been late due to the weather, even though all the main roads are clear and I live on a main road. It's just unacceptable that such a big company would not even ring ahead to say the order would be late or what ever!
update: while typing this I have got though... TBC.....

Right. the guy I spoke to who didn't care what I had to say even though I was polite with him said the store rejected the order with no reason given. He credited my account with a free delivery even though I told him I will never use ASDA again because of such a bad service.
Sainsburys from now on!

OH NOW I AM GOING TO GO MENTAL!
Just checked my account again and they have reordered it for Sunday at 6.00pm - 8.00pm They have charged me for delivery even though I used a free delivery code and my order has increased in price from £83.61 to £95.05!!!!!! They are now closed but I will ring them in the morning before I go to church where I will have to ask for a lot of forgiveness after THAT phonecall!

You can always contact head office customer service service chiller and make a formal complaint. Do you still want your order? If not and you cancel it by phone but they still turn up, tell them what to do with it (any way you please!) and contact your bank on Monday to reclaim the money taken from your account. I shop online with Tesco and have had very few problems over the years, but the ones I have had have been quickly, politely and efficiently resolved with the delivery cost being refunded.

I think that is exactly what I will be doing in the morning. I can not believe what a crap service they provide! you would have expected that ASDA / Wallmart one of the biggest supermarket chains in the world would be much more professional than this!

You're not having a good time what with the recent LT problem ... Are you on twitter? It's really powerful in this situation. I had 12 months of attempting to get my name and address off the Virgin media distribution list. Endless junk mail, 6 phone calls and despite reassurances I was off their list, the letters still came like the opening scene of the first Harry Potter film. In the end I tweeted at Richard Branson asking why his numpties couldn't fix it. 30 mins later I had a response and a direct number to call. Shame the buggers I say.
(It wasn't Dicky Branson I spoke to)

I never got the twitter thing... it just seems like a way a celebraty can mesure there popularity... something I don't want to be a part of.
I have the number of the head office of ASDA so I will be contacting them as soon as they open and raising a formal complaint with them.
I will also keep this thread updated with how it goes.

Gosh you lot make me jealous!
Imagine having a choice of who you order online from. That must be heavenly!
We are stuck with Asda full stop.
Like it or lump it.
Once in a blue moon we get the chance to fill in a survey "of our latest order". That order will be the one in twenty where they actually deliver everything that we have asked for.
Yes it is a poor service, but, for us, it is all we have.

I very rarely go in Asda anyway, I like the Tesco clubcard vouchers to save all year for Christmas treats. Online shopping is cheaper than taxi fares which is why I do it, plus I detest traipsing round supermarkets getting bashed with trolleys, screaming kids as they're bored/can't have sweets, whatever, seemingly endless queues, people taking up the whole aisle dawdling along as if tomorrow will do, so 'doing it online' at 3 quid a time should be the perfect solution. Though I don't know what Asda charges for delivery. ??? Sorry you've had a bad first experience, hope Sainsbury's does better. I haven't tried them as they seem a bit expensive for groceries.

lol that is really nice of you to offer but hopefully it will be resolved via phone tomorrow. I might take up the offer if they sill piss me about. I found a discount card for Morrisons a while a go... comes in handy for the alcohol offers. 1ltr of bacardi for £11 is just a true steal! shame that it expired last month

I used Asda delivery once and NEVER again! Mr Dollys' sister and her husband had come to UK from New Zealand to visit their daughter and also spend a few days with us. I was so busy i decided to order all the food from them including a leg of lamb to cook for dinner the day they arrived. I asked for delivery the night before. Delivery arrived albeit 2hrs late but when i was unpacking it i realised there was no lamb!! I tried ringing but no answer as it was late at night. I had work the next day so rang early. Even though they had the lamb advertised on the website the shop that dealt with my order didn't sell lamb in the weight i had ordered. Well, if you don't bloody sell it don't advertise it YOU NUMPTIES!! This meant i had to race to Tesco after work grab the best joint i could and then run indoors and start cooking immediately. I made a complaint which fell on deaf ears. Since then i have never used Asda again.
