I am loving my new Zmax bought in the coop buy earlier this month, but just wondered if mine has a problem or not. This has only happened twice. When i go to bed at night i don't switch the Zmax off as such by doing the click thing, i just leave it as it is and get up next day and resume using it. This morning is the second time it has switched itself off on its own and i have to unscrew the base cap and reconnect it to start working again. I first try doing 5 clicks but that doesn't work. Is this normal? It doesn't do it every night, as i said only happened twice since i got it.

Intermittent battery contact and the weight of the battery is causing the spring to lose contact..First, make sure you are using the proper cap. The smaller cap is for 1 x 18650. The larger cap is for 2 x 18350.
So make sure you are using the correct cap. If the problem still persists, try swapping the spring from the bigger cap and try..If problem still persists, get a silver bullet hot spring and replace it.
It looks like they are scrimping on the spring in this batch but it is a easy fix.

Thanks Macca. I checked and do have the correct cap on. I have a 18650 in it. Doesn't bother me that much just wanted to check there isn't some major fault. I can cope with it as it is.

Hi Michnig Did you check the bag and box it came in as i nearly threw my second cap away by accident as i did not realise it had been separately wrapped?

See here: allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cooppayments&thread=16612&page=5#324615Everyone's Zmax was posted with a separate battery cap..This time around, the cap it came with in the box is the bigger 2 x 18350 cap and the single 18650 cap was in the same envelope and wrapped seperately.. I know of some who threw away the envelope with the other cap still in it. This is how it is posted.

Anyone else having issue with a weak spring can try this: ClickyPick: CWM-1418-->Copper Washer 14mm x 18mm M14 Metric Remove the spring and drop the washer into the cap and refit the spring.

Which 18350 battery are you using?
The bigger cap is the 2 x 18350 cap but if you use 2 x protected 18350 or 18350 with button top, they will be longer and may not fit. Not all 18350 are the same length.
I will request Perpetua to check about the second cap.

Just checked the remaining Zmax's & endcaps I have here . . . 41 devices and 41 18650 caps left, so I don't know what's happened.
When packing these 20 devices, I also packaged 20 endcaps, as they come in a box of 5, just in tissue paper. I bubble wrap them individually to give some protection in the post.
I guess it's not beyond the realms of possibilty I put 2 in someone's envelope, but I would have thought, that they would have said by now . . . .

I wouldn't advise anyone to stack batteries purely for safety issues and there is really no benefit unless you vape above 11 watts..2 x protected batteries will not fit as protection adds about 2mm to the length of each battery.
But if you want to use 2 x 18350 then you must use either a 2 x efest 18350 flat top IMR or 2 x AW IMR.. The bigger cap also works with the longer 18650 batteries.
Regarding the smaller single 18650 cap, Perpetua has checked and we have no spares so all 19 were posted out. If someone has received two in error, could they please let us know.
