When you put the battery in and screwed on the end cap, did the display flash? (as it should)

I've just tried my SS one and it works perfectly. Check that you've got the new spring and that the battery isn't moving up and down

Its the stainless steel one. i am going to see if i can find some metal glue of some sort.

Screen will only flash when you screw the end cap on and it makes contact, still the same? Sure the battery is charged okay? Is it a flat top battery?

Just my luck , it going to be a bad connection I think , got to be , thing about it is I have just tried to pull the top half off but its solid tight, just to see if I can see anything amiss inside.

When you look down the tube (easier with the extension tube removed) does the red insulating washer look okay? It is normal to see them off centre. No chance that some of it is raised a bit causing the battery not to make contact?
