I've just tried my SS one and it works perfectly. Check that you've got the new spring and that the battery isn't moving up and down

Its the stainless steel one. i am going to see if i can find some metal glue of some sort.

Loctite if you can get it, designed to lock screws, should be perfect for this

just a warnin for ya. if ya use this stuff these a very high chance youll never get it apart again. dont use tons of the stuff just a couple of drops on the bit that slides in. if ya ever do need to take it apart, use a hair dryer to soften the glue slighty and if ya lucky itll pop off.

Yes gold spring, no screen flashing when I put battery in.

Screen will only flash when you screw the end cap on and it makes contact, still the same? Sure the battery is charged okay? Is it a flat top battery?

Battery's are ok, tried both types flat top and nipple type, still no joy.

yup, and also like you say, I would have expected the screen to light up when putting the battery in as it does with the LT.

Just my luck , it going to be a bad connection I think , got to be , thing about it is I have just tried to pull the top half off but its solid tight, just to see if I can see anything amiss inside.

When you look down the tube (easier with the extension tube removed) does the red insulating washer look okay? It is normal to see them off centre. No chance that some of it is raised a bit causing the battery not to make contact?
