Apologies if this has been asked before, I'm way too tired to do a search (have been helping with a house move all day). I did look at the Terms and Abbreviations wiki page, that didn't help me The Riva 1100 Kit has 5 Cartomisers and 1 Clearomiser. Why only one of one, and 5 of the other? I guess what I want to know is what the difference is, apart from the filling methods.

But Clearomisers don't last as long? According to the blurb which comes with it:
"This can very from one week to several weeks, depending on the type of e-liquid used and the amount of use.

I guess what I want to know is what the difference is, apart from the filling methods. 5 cartos same cost as 1 clearo (approx). 1 clearo should last longer than 5 cartos - it's a very different juice delivery system i.m.o. Now, as for exact "life", hard to say. A non-rebuildble clearomiser may not last long at all. My original Riva clearo lasted all of about 2 hours. Decided it was my fault I'd killed it, so ordered a replacement which has lasted 5 months, but that's changing the head once or twice a week. Some folk can get days, even weeks without changing the head. I know Jason said some have lasted even 2 months, presumably by dry-burning the gunk off the coils. Some folk can vape gunky coils, I guess it depends on what sort of juice(s) you use. I think I have a 2-month head on a Vivi nova that has only ever had one flavour in it.

I was under the impression you can refill a clearo many times or am I getting mixed up?.
As I haven't got my kit yet I'm just trying to get as much info as I can

There are also rebuildable clearos that can be stripped down and have the head replaced at approx 1/2 the price of a new clearo. A 15 second process. There are even more cost effective steps involving making your own coil/wicks. Personally i love my rebuildables It will all become clearer when your kit arrives!

Im guessing you meant to put a link But the clearomiser will clearly say Replacable or Rebuildable.. www.vapingthings.com/CLEAROMISERS/cat1311953_1221610.aspxHavent used this site but i believe it comes highly recommended by the peeps on here. The Vision ones are what i started on.. im slowly switching over to the Kangers, becuase the replaceable heads seem cheaper

No question is too daft to ask DocJelly. Best to get advice rather than let it go unanswered. (Soz if that sounds patronising, but I think it's best to just dive in).
The clearos you'll got [Vision ego's] with the Riva kit are not rebuildable (I have the same kit and have searched high and low on how to rebuild them), but they will last through a lot of refills (they can be cleaned out), so you can put a fair few juices through them, but they could die on you - generally not die immediately but that is a possibility.
I think the clearo v Carto debate is covered above in terms of which is best, but you can get clearo's that are rebuildable whereas carto's are always "single" use. That "single" use can be anything from a few days to a few weeks.

started on the carts with a cigalike and was advised to get a good kit. got the riva 1100 with the clearo and carts. not used the carts much and have bought rebuildables plus heads.
not at the stage of recoiling and wicking but i think in the long run, it works out cheaper to buy rebuildables and heads rather than the 'fixed' ones

I prefer cartos theyre easy and no leaks! Can have a few different flavours on the go and just swap the carts over. I'm not keen on clearos at all. They leak and the draw I think isn't great. It's all personal preference.
