Thank you lee, I hope it's "readable"... I'm using the Iphone atm and it is a pain to write such a big text... As most of you know I'm not a native, and it can also justify some typos or not-so-well-structured sentences... Honestly I don't go back to read it again and I just hope you can sort those out ;p lol

This isn't good news its like taking two steps forward then one step back. Some interesting info has come up about this under this subject i especially liked the info on the site what was posted about the nic in juice. But this news story does have it good points and its bad tbh.
The good being it makes people more wary to buy from car-boot/market vendors and to stick with who/what you know. But on the other hand they make every one else look bad.Just saying i was someone new on here and i mean totally brand new and fresh and i come on here and read that it would make me very weary in all honesty and would kinda put me off.
But theres alot to be learnt from these news story's they can be some positive to come out of them but some negative aswell.

I just want to add that there is i believe 13mg of nicotine in a cigarette but you only get 1mg smoking it, so that works out at 260mg nic per packet of cigs if you ate them. 240mg in a 10ml bottle is normal not over the top.Its 24mg per ml of liquid.
And i do believe it helps the cause. If they are being sold without childproof caps, toxic warnings etc they should be pulled of the market, they are not within UK regs as they stand.
Trading Standards need to do their job.

The newsreader said " A potentially lethal consignment of electric cigarettes was seized at the port of Felixstowe yesterday. Anyone who has bought the items are advised to destroy them immediately or return them to the supplier for a refund. They showed pictures of them and that was it.
That was it, how we remember it. High drama!
My OH is a tramper (long distance lorry driver) and he is in the port of Felixstowe several times a week.
It seems that poor unfortunate illegal immigrants that suffocate in containers are old news.
The press are after something new to get there teeth into, and I do hope it is not us!
I think we need to prepare well informed rebuttal statements, that can be sent out quickly and stealthily, when necessary.

I'm inclined to agree with CKC. It could serve to warn people to buy from responsible suppliers. Unscrupulous traders will jump on the bandwagon but that doesn't have to impact on the good traders.
Nothing to stop unscrupulous traders putting any rubbish into their e-juice. If you don't have facilities to analyse, how would you know? Much of the stuff drug dealers use to cut pure heroin contain rat poison and other toxic materials.
I imagine most of us have heard of house fires caused by exploding chargers/electronic/electrical components bought cheaply on eBay and at markets? It doesn't lead to compliant items being banned from sale from the high street.

well just my 2bobs worth. ive not fully read every post in the thread. but this can really be a much more a positive thing rather than negative. as with many things that come onto the market there are always some looking for the fast buck. the negative of this is some suppliers and there are many is running without reading and using the rule book. the positive is that lets say LF can trump this by stating we have had the new super dooper efag tested for safety and our juices are tested by joe blogs from the big testing center.com and they conform to all health and safety measures. the problem i see is that the suppliers need to wake up and smell the coffee. they are the only ones who can either make this all work or they can do as the ipswich seller has done and say "well no one told me". sellers its your living and our pleasure, but you guys need to step up to the mark and make yourselves totally legal. i realise this all costs money but if you dont do it and soon the fines you will getting will far out way any costs. i may be talking complete rubbish here if so just ignore me!!!!!!!!

Bottles weren't CHIP compliant so TS have a case there. As for the e-cigs themselves being electrically dangerous, they are likely sound activated, like many cheapies, and that can cause burns. They may also have been incorrectly CE marked - quite often Chinese makers use a similar marking, but not the right one, and without thr correct paperwork etc.
If folks want all the safety checks done, be aware that the cost of all your kit will inevitably rise a lot - most vendors make nowhere near enough profit to be able to absorb all of the costs that will arise. Expecting an atty to last more than a week and cost under a fiver is unreasonable, for instance - if you buy cheap, you get cheap.
