After my first attempt in the world of mixology, I'm going to give myself a partial thumbs up. The good news is I've vaped every last drop, so I'm doing something right. The less than good news is that neither mix was quite what I was expecting, but obviously perfectly acceptable. I tried 2 mixes - 1st was raspberry cheesecake using capella flavourings. The New York cheescake flavour is absolutely spot on, the difficulty I had was getting enough raspberry in to be able to taste it, but not smother it. Didn't quite get there, but will adjust amounts next time and see how I go. 2nd was blueberry waffle again using the capellas. The aroma from the bottle with the waffle flavouring is unbelievably amazing - the flavour just didn't quite come through for me though. Again I was trying to avoid overdoing the fruit flavour and to be fair, the blueberry was just about right - lovely flavour without being overpowering. The waffle just wasn't quite what I was expecting from the smell - perfectly OK, just not quite right. Quite probable it's just my taste buds at fault though. Have since mixed some of Perps VC which is delicious and now getting very low - so I best get my mixing mitts on again and see how it goes this time All in all enjoying this mixing business - just going to take time and patience (neither of which I ever seem to have )

Well done smudge......I mixed my first batch yesterday & just keep staring at it with itchy fingers.......... Yeah, that's the hardest bit of all.......the waiting. Surprised myself at being good enough to let them steep properly

Well done, Smudge, it was your first go, they were properjob mixes & they were vapable, that's the main thing. A few tweaks & it sounds like you'll be spot on for your taste. Good for you!

Thanks Jess Was pretty happy with them overall. Got plenty more flavours to try out and will tweak a bit with the first ones. Great lark is this mixing, not to mention the savings

Sounds like you're really going to be getting into it. Don't forget to make a note of your tweaks, so that you can enjoy the deliciousness of your homebrew regularly & also, don't forget to pop your recipes on here, for us all to attempt. when we're brave enough!

Don't worry, I won't be posting anything until the tweakage is complete and I'm happy with them - I have been noting everything down, it's all on the back of an envelope which is on this mess of a desk of mine......somewhere

Congrats! I've also mixed some perfectly vapable juice and have some more flavours expected in the post.

Well done Smudge, just starting out mixing myself and I must say it is contagious Even a bottle I dropped on the floor tasted not too bad and really quite good once I added a bit more flavouring. First batch of home brew is running out fast, started with Perpy's VC and Cappellas apple pie, now on to batch 2 and getting a bit more adventurous with banana custard, apple pie and custard and cheesecake. Not sure I am ready yet to share my recipies as I don't think my measurements are very accurate. Syringe to fat to fit in the bottle and not too good at using the pipettes so off to find some measuring beakers for the next lot. Good luck all, happy mixing and vaping.

Well done Smudge, a better result than I'm getting.
I have been making my own menthol for a couple of months and it's pretty good, better than any I've bought anyway.
Not having much success with other flavours though but I have just invested in some Capella's from AC, so I shall have to wait for them to arrive and start afresh.
Made a disgusting Baileys juice the other night but I was pretty merry (on Baileys) and it's only cost me about 10p if I bin it!

Definitely very contagious And bad luck with the Bailey's, raid - we live and learn I guess. I think you'll love the cheesecake mixes Ellen - it really does taste like it smells and absolutely delicious. Think that's what threw me a bit with the waffle flavour - smells like good old-fashioned waffles, but doesn't really taste like it smells. Let me know how you get on with the fruit flavourings in your cheesecake - I found it quite hard to balance them. Happy mixing to all

The Capella flavourings are very authentic and also very concentrated and“Oh, So Good”!
It is all down to getting the correct %age for a given flavour, a good starting point is somewhere between 10% to 15% of flavour concentrate when mixing a single flavour (depending on the actual flavour and your tastes – if you like it strong, medium, weak, etc).
Now, when combining two or more flavours you have to be even more accurate, and take into account that one flavour can mask another or dominate another, so finding the balance can be tricky, trial and error and a fair bit of flavour tweaking will undoubtedly be required before you get it correct.
Sometimes, the difference of just 1% (or less) can be very noticeable, and throw a mix.
If you managed a reasonable vapable juice by mixing two flavours on your first attempt, you can count that as a big thumbs up.
Well done.

Sorry for hijacking the thread, but maybe someone here can help: I've got the irish cream capella flavour and it doesn't smell very good. Quite harsh and chemically. Anyone here mixed it up on its own, and if so, how did it turn out? I'd like something similar to Grizwalds irish cream juice, maybe a tad creamier......perhaps I could add a bit of CCW cream or PA bavarian cream (also getting some capella viennesse cream)...would appreciate your opinions here.
