Try getting the ss mesh wick a little closer to the centre pin.

I use the "drill bit" method which works pretty well.
Look for videos of it about the place, also as was said try to get the wick closer to the post and sometimes having the wire wrap the opposite way round the centre post from the direction of your coil can help.

Having the coil too tight causes hot spots at the top for me. A slightly loser coil and also using kanthal instead of nichrome fixed my problems. Mind I'm no expert. Chris.

Hope u don't mind me asking this here thought it be better than starting a new thread I've had my mine running great no hot spots for a hole tank just started tasting great .. Anyway so I went to re full it and couldn't resist giving it a blast to admire the vapour and thought amazing! Lol went to show off to the Missus then panic struck The top leg started glowing argh ! So now I have a problem I'm not site how to fix I tried keeping it tilted so the juice wasn't on the coil and tried adjusting it to get it to bugger off but no luck and it just spits at me which rather stings ha The question is how do I get rid of this now ? Have I burnt though the oxidised layer over blasting it (admitted ly trying to be cleaver) or will it just work it's way out again

Try to adjust the centre pin nut it may have loosened on your wire failing that keep tweaking the coil gaps till it stops don't dry run it drop on the wick now and again while your tweaking other than that no idea as it's my first go at this that's all I did till it worked soz bud.

if you mean top coil glowing then pul wick away a bit to re tighten, sounds like you have last coil right at the top,you could try nudging it down a bit with a cocktail stick
also when you recoil it next check knurled nuts bottom 2 are dome side down and top one dome side up,that way you get flat clamping surface

The ss wick will last ages, but will need attention when the wick and coil gunk up, either burn it off, re coil it or new wick and coil, I'd re coil a couple of times then maybe fit a new wick after that, a new coil only takes a minute to fit, it's the wick that's the pain in the arse.

Hmm I fixed it kinda now I just get either and hot spot on the leg at the top or a random coil if only if I got up to 9w or above that normal and ok to just cape away at something lower or should I try nudging them out up at the higher power Also the resistance changes now n then from 2 up to 3.5 :s

stitch, if it's working and giving an acceptable vape then just use it, it will bed in and get better the more it's used, up to a point, but if it's not working at whatever volts watts you vape at then the wick may need more oxydising or the coil can be too tight or loose, fiddling about with the top coil and it's distance from the post can fix hot spots, but always, the more it's used the better it gets, ps i am not an expert but it works for me

Lol will see I guess As much as I'm beginning to like these try certainly don't seem like an out and about all day vape or at least to me with all the fiddling
