i would definately try lifting the centre pin, the 1100mah battery roughly last 900 puffs, well that is what the manufactors claim always thought exactly what to they decided what a puff is[ yes heard that joke lol] could be a 1 sec inhale or is it min of a 5 sec inhale....so Evic owners with puff counters do a test , does the puff counter reduce per use or ie try a 1 sec or 5 sec puff reduce counter still one at time Yep I always wondered how they could claim x amount of puffs per charge and how they could work it out! LOL never knew there were devices that had counters on them either

Unfortunately there is only one way to prove it and that is to get another battery. There is a possibility that the charger isnt giving out 4.2 volts, if you have a multimeter you could check that by seeing what the battery reads when the green light has come on, but it looks like a new battery unfortunately :-[

I bought a pair of Ego 900mAh batteries last April and they're still going strong. There are a lot of sub-standard ones around though, so it pays to only buy from a decent supplier. In use, for all-day vaping, with a 2.8 or 2.4ohm carto, they would each last 8 to 10 hours, depending on how heavily I was using them. I found the Ego/carto setup was much more economical on juice and battery life than the LavaTubes with tanks. I still use the Ego/cartos as a carry-around setup, as it's more portable, so still know if they're retaining a charge as they should. I won't be at all surprised if they turn their toes up when a couple of years old, but nothing lasts forever.

It is so hard to tell with the batteries, mine came from a Chinese vender on my first ego kit and they are fine, dont seem to have dropped off in performance by much although I dont use them much now I have the Vamo. Worth checking with other forum members who have replaced ego batts and their experience with them. Also, may be an opportunity to sample the delights of a Variable Voltage battery.

Mmm you could have a point there! My other battery lasted all day yesterday but I've got 2 chargers and the other battery was charged by USB as I was working on the laptop but the one that died today after a couple of hours was charged on the wall one. I'll try swapping the chargers in the hope it's the charger that's dodgy! Probably wishful thinking here as it doesn't explain my friends battery doing the same unless the original chargers are the problem

Thanks Farzooks The place we bought them from has a decent reputation and has been running for a while so I can't see them knowingly selling sub standard kit! I guess even the vendors can get unlucky and end up with the occasional dud batch and probably won't even know about it until people start complaining! Robby the variable voltage sounds tempting LOL why can I see this ending up as another excuse to buy more gear

They were fine when you bought them and have just "tired" if the chargers are giving out their full 4.2 volts

Ah well I can either mess about trying to work out what's wrong or I can do the sensible thing and go shopping for a new one Yep buying a new one seems to be the clear winner
