Mice

While I was replying to a post the wife gave out a squeal their's a mouse has run under the unit
so their I was pulling the unit out the little bugger was in the corner. So I managed to grab it
then throw it out the back door as far I could. I said we will have to go to B&Q first thing tomorrow
and get some traps no she said it was only. No I said we have to get some traps, so I go back
to the computer and then, I think you know whats coming next another scream ones running about
in the kitchen. I said I'm not pulling every thing out we will get traps tomorrow, she's off
to stay the night with the son and wife and I said couldn't make it a week could you if looks
could kill.

We have a dog but then again he would pack his bags and leave,
Maybe a cat isn't a bad idea. Then the dog would surely leave.

It could well have been the same one come back in but if you have one, you probably have at least another.

The traps work really well most of the time, try different sorts of sweets, one of them normally works, I like the jelly ones as you can reuse them many times.
I live in the country and I have this sort of problem all the time. Cats only help a certain amount although the one we have now does a pretty good job of getting rid of any obvious ones, but she's only 1, as they get older, they get lazier.

The best traps are the snap ones btw, don't bother with the live traps unless you have a large number of mice, then a multiple mouse trap can help (you still have to kill them though!)

Result on the mouse getting rid of the Mrs for a couple of days though, LOL.

ps I see you have a dog, so please (obviously, sorry) put the snap trap where he can't get to.

my jack russell loves catching mice ,rats too when we are out,i live in the country so we get a fair few,unfortunately she tends to trash the room in there pursuit !

These things are very good. We bought one for an old dear we know when she had problems with mice in her house. It has been there for 3 years now and never seen any evidence of mice since.

When I lived next to a field we used to get mice. They can get through the smallest holes so the only thing you can do is trap them. They really do love chocolate.

You may want to investigate and see if you have a nest somewhere. Seems a bit early in the year for them to have come from outside.

Don't bother with a cat, if it's owt like ours, it'll bring mice in & then release them!!
We use humane traps, never kill them, so have our own catch & release programme going. In fact, one was released at just after midnight lastnight.

We get the majority of ours when it gets really cold outside, so about October it starts.
Then if you have any work done nearby, even a new shed being built and an old one taken down, they could be looking for a new home.

Anyway mice pffft, easy, rats, now they're the buggers to get rid of

People tend to be squeamish about the snap traps but they really are the best solution, quick and clean. Poison takes days to work and causes an agonising death. Mice caught in live traps have to be released miles away or they will find their way straight back. A dab of nutella works wonders as bait. Even when you've caught a mouse there will probably be more. Keep putting the trap down until no more are caught for a few days.

Erm, you do know they come straight back in unless you release them about half a mile away (at least) and then they will probably just be killed by something else anyway, not knowing where they are.

He was released up the lane & I'd rather they take their chance out in the wild, than break their neck.
