Ay Up everyone,

Over the last few weeks, we have seen a lot of political activity on the forums. The Eeeewwww (EU) directive seems to have sparked a bit off 'get of your @rse and do summat' in us.

However, you do not need to get off 'thi bum' to write a letter to an MP/MEP or to sign a petition - but you DO to really get the point across to the general public.

As we all know, most smokers like to smoke! I was a smoker for 23 years and I loved it - in fact I still consider myself a smoker after well over 3 and a half years of using ecigs. BUT, they (we) are made to feel like second class citizens in the 21st century world Sad

It is about time that this changed - and we (ecig users) have a golden opportunity to DO something to make that change.

How can we do it?
The simple answer is to 'get out there' and USE ecigs in public places - 're-normalise' smoking to the smokers! Leave the vaping paraphernalia at home and just use something that looks 'acceptable' to a smoker. Maybe an eGo battery with summat on the top of it?!

Get together with a group of mates - in a pub (preferably) - and ENJOY Big Grin

I wasn't allowed to vape in the pub but talked my young friend into a puff on the way to the next, pretty 650 battery with a mini nova on, she loved it as she said she hates stinking of smoke

most pubs seem to dislike me vaping in them, not that they mind the vaping so much, its all the other patrons that complain about me smoking and why can't they

It is all about increasing awareness and educating people mira666. Two years ago, it was the same in my local area.

Now, nobody bats an eyelid when people use their ecigs in the local pubs because so many people are using them - even those who complained that they could not smoke their real cigarettes inside seem to have switched to an ecig for a night out IN the pub!

The change in awareness has been a slow burner - 'vape meets' certainly helped initially but the availability of good ecigs on the local markets, has significantly increased the uptake in the last 6 months or so.

Took my Vamo to my local pub last Sunday, hadn't been in for two years but it now has a new landlord, I did ask if I could use it, no problem. Most people just carried on, there were a few friendly remarks apart from one chap, with him it was why don't I just give up,my answer was I didn't want to, well just smoke then, I carried on vaping he rolled a cigarette and went outside. most people i see always ask me about it, and see it as a good idea, trouble is when you do something that the majority can't then they get peeved about it, that might just be cos its a Glasweigan rock pub though

I remember not long ago I was standing at the bus stop and this young bloke say in his twenties asks me is that one
of they e-fags you smoking. I said sort of then I started to explain to him its a mod, they difference between
mine and cigalike. The guy was telling me his mate had just bought an e-lite kit, and asked where to buy good ones
so I told him to go on line google e-cigs. Gave him some vendors names and tried to point him in the right direction.

It can only be a good thing for the pub industry to allow vaping, when you look at the amount of pubs that have closed since the smoking ban.
I must admit that I have not set foot in a pub since the ban :-[

My other half was in Liverpool yesterday and he said he saw people vaping everywhere! Ive not seen a single other person vaping around these parts though apart from myself
