Got lots of old spent cartomizers lying around?

Chances are that you do - many of us started out on cig-alike toys of one sort or another.

But don't throw them out just yet! Since most of them can be refilled fairly easily, they give a very plausible way of trying out new mixes, or new juices - without disturbing your main rig, or wasting too much juice.

If you remember, with these things, it was only usually the first few 'drags' that 'hit the spot' - and that's all you really need to check out the new juice. If it doesn't work out then toss it in the bin - nothing lost!

I'm trying that with my elite cartos but they have totally dried out even with the caps on so seem to take quite a bit of juice just to get a puff out of them.

Being pretty frugal I'd like to get a bit of use out of the elite

From my experience, you have to let the juice soak down to the coil. This often means holding them with the thread outwards, and shaking them - like you do with a clinical thermometer. Either that, or let them stand vertically for about 30 mins.

the thing with cartos is once they are dead they probly burnt as well just like when you burn an atomiser
i did sugest this in another post and works for me
take the wodding out wash then dry burn the cart watch down the air tube just like anyother coil then repack its very fidly i fold it twice then curl it arounf twessers when you drop it back in it opens out now it will work again with now aftertaist
down side is normal cant get as much wading back in so cut mine in half now its more like a driping carto holds about 4 or 5 drops b4 needs topping off

and how do you clean out a carto/dcc? Mine is still very much alive (got it with the wee grippa) but I want to change flavours?

Hot water flush out, then blow through, takes a while, but works. Or just vape through the change.

Don't just throw old dead cartos out, break them up, there is all sorts of little grommets that can be used in other attys.

First hot water, then 2 x 5 minutes in ultrasonic cleaner will do the job.
