I suppose the centre post could get a bit wonky/bent ??? The o ring could perish and make it leaky, although a replacement o ring would solve that! I think it might be this one. Because I've had it happen to me - centre post has gone kaput a couple of times.

I may have mentioned this before but cannot remember. When a clearomiser is new then often the contact extends a lot further that it will when it has settled down in used for a while. Do not screw it hard on a battery, just screw it down until it makes contact plus a tiny bit more. Use a sleeve to cover ego threads to then act as a lock nut by unscrewing it against the base of the clearomiser. This will prevent you distorting the battery contact and pressing it down too far so the bung will be permanently deformed and the battery contact will no longer work with a used clearomiser. Mind you having said that, my lavatube battery connection centre contact sits far too low to start with and thinking filing the the 510 connector to make a better connection allowing the tank to screw down further. Loath to do it as will take the nice gold plating flash off. Meantime have got around the problem by using a 510 to ego adapter which is a handy thing to keep for those awkward battery connectors.
