Hello Cath, fellow newb here too. Best of all luck in quitting - about to take the plunge myself, too, probably with a Riva, still shillyshallying over details. Like you, confused but excited about the whole juice array, but I'll be happy if I can just ferret out a good menthol flavour.

Everybody's different in the amount of liquid they use but the average seems to be around
2-4 ml a day judging by other members posts but there's no right or wrong you just have to
find what works for you

Usually when I'm busy through the week I use a 24mg nic juice but I only vape around 1ml a day
as I tend just to pick it up and have the odd puff rather than sitting vaping for hours. Although
I smoked 20-25 a day it has been pointed out to me that my hand or the ashtray probably smoked more
of them than I did most of the time. If I'm at home relaxing at the weekend I usually go through
around 2ml but I tend to use lower 12mg or 18mg nic juices if I'm likely to be vaping more as the
nic makes me feel lousy if I over do it.


Definitely stick to smaller bottles until you find out the flavours you like and get
the right strength for you. Plenty of vendors on here do sample packs or 5ml bottles so
try a few of these first rather than getting stuck with 30ml of something you don't like.

Don't bin any flavours you don't like to start with put them away and try them again in a few
weeks as you'll often find your tastes change. You can also try mixing them with another juice
to add more flavour or change the taste. If you like menthol I find adding some menthol eliquid
can make even the worst flavour juice usable

Hi Cath, welcome to the forum. The Riva kit is a great starting point. Agree with all the above on the liquids so just enjoy the trial and error period in testing all the liquids.

Agree with all the points about the riva kit........not that I cut my teeth on but still. I had to be different tee hee

After 18 months I'm now on 7mg/ml (soon to be 6mg) vaping about 4-5ml a day (it got the point where I didn't check)...

Be aware you will feel thirsty if you over vape. But don't worry if you vape more than you smoke ....get some mints or sweets to suck in between vapes if you think you're over vaping..

I started on 36mg/ml with the whole works. Tis what I needed and worked for me ...stuck at that for 8 weeks before slowly reducing...

Once you are sure Vaping is for you then even two dozen 5ml samples is not much. 120ml for me would be 2 months +/-

Just don't go ordering massive bottles. Buying a big bottle and not enjoying it is bad....

Buying 5 x 10ml bottles and liking none of them is even worse. For example, I made the mistake of buying 5 bottles from one "source". Some 10ml and some 20ml. Nothing wrong with them "as juice" but the basic taste was not my thing at all.

I tend to buy in 2s or 3s, or sometimes just one bottle with some other hardware.
