Hello and welcome Cath this kit www.vapeescape.co.uk/the-ve-riva-1100-deluxe-kit~151 is about as god as it gets for a starter kit all you need is some juice with it and you are good to go. Excellent performance and battery life as well as very reliable and simple to use. Happy vaping and any questions, just ask Oh and if you use the code "allabout" you get 10% off as well

Thank You for your quick reply . I was reading the thread below mine and it also says this model is recommended. I really need to stop smoking cigarettes and have tried most other methods. So here we go ordering now

I'm sure you'll love it It's what most of us "cut our teeth on" and still occasionally use.

Thanks for the link . I am wondering how much e liquid to order ?? I wonder if you could help as to how long a 10ml bottle would last (am thinking of ordering a few flavors to try)

Hi Cath, First of all, welcome. Yes it can be very confusing, there are newbies and experienced vapers on here, and they can appear to be speaking different languages. Don't be put off, we all need to start somewhere, just don't do it with the cig-a-likes. The kit 'kibbster' recommends above is very popular and will do you well. I, personally went with... www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=180and am still using it after 6 months (although I've since treated myself to bigger Spinner batteries) Your main problem is going to be finding your favourite juice, but that can also be a fascinating journey. Just don't go buying big bottles based on their description. Have a look at the reviews here... allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/board/11/liquid-reviewsand don't forget to hunt out the discount codes... allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/301/discount-codesGood luck. Edited to add: I obviously can't type fast enough & have duplicated some posts above

Hi Cath, welcome.
I can only re-iterate what's already been said. The kit you've got in mind is brilliant but definitely don't order massive bottles of stuff you may not like. Sample bottle (up to 10mls) are the way to go.
I personally only use about 1.5mls of liquid a day, but I didn't really smoke during the day, mostly on the drive to/from work and mostly at home, but I suspect 2-3mls is about the average

Yes, as Raffles said, better to buy small (5ml or 10ml) bottles to try the flavours and when you find one you like order bigger bottles. It's all a journey to find your flavours that you like, there are 100s out there, everything from tobacco to menthols and puddings/fruity to drinks (don't drink the drink flavoured ones, they don't taste as nice as they vape!) Get ones that you like the taste of as food and go from there. Although just because you like something as food doesn't mean you'll like vaping and vice versa, but it's a good starting point. Any questions about flavours ask on here, but like everything, everyone might have a different opinion.

Hi Cath and welcome to the Forum.
Pull up a chair and get your feet under the table. You will soon pick up the jargon.
When I started out (from a 40 a day habit) I was on 24mg strength of the e-juice and I was getting through about 5ml a day.
7 month down the line I am still on 24mg, but I have now dropped to about 3.5ml a day.

You can't go wrong with an Riva / Ego battery kit. I still use my original Ego Battery's when I am out and about, even though I've got plenty of other kit. Getting the right flavour will be your problem, luckily most vendors do selection packs cheaply with little 5ml samplers. Everyone likes different e-juice, but there are a few that seem more popular so I would try these :- RY4 (A Kind of sweet tobbaco) Vanilla Custard (Possibly the most popular, and my only vape) Flue Cured Tobbaco Menthols / Fruits Or just go wild and order everything you can find - like I did

It's all a great learning experience for sure. I was smoking about 20 rollies a day, and am now vaping about 5-6ml of 12-18mg eLiquid. I found 18mg all day was giving me headaches, so play with it to see what works for you.
Drink plenty of watery drinks as you will find you can get a drier throat than when smoking, and be aware you kind of need to treat an ecig like wearing a nicotine patch..little and often, as the nicotine from ejuice doesn't get into your system as fast as smoking a normal ciggy.
You will get plenty of advice from all types of smoking habits here, so take note of the ones that best reflect yourself, and don't be shy of asking what may seem a silly question.
