Hello Oxidized my mesh, put it down the hole wrapped my coil tested the Ohms 2.1 Then i hit the fire button at 3.2v. I get an orange glow from the wire starting at the center post, soon as the orange glow makes it to where my first wrap starts the wire snaps I have tried this 3 times now and same thing. Im using 0.16 wire if that makes a difference. What could it be? Cheers Ryan

Loosen the top coil a touch..
The wire gets pulled tight when you tighten the nut which creates a short..That's why the drill bit method is so successful instead of wrapping the wire around the wick direct.

Tried the drill bit, all the coils were heating up fine. Put the SS mesh in and it did it again. The wire seems to break at the top where it first touches the Mesh Does this mean its not oxidized enough?

Possibly.
Next time, after making the coil, remove the drill bit and fire the coil a couple of times without the wick to harden the coil in shape and stabilize the resistance before inserting the wick into the coil. Then put the mesh wick in and drip a few drops of juice directly on the coil before test firing..

Sounds like your wick could possibly be conducting also. Make sure the wick is fully oxidised! Good luck!

No more flames, but next thing I think the coil is too loose it all glows orange but its not burning any juice. Think i need to wrap it a little tighter around the mesh? Does everyone find SS Mesh this hard or is it just me

Does everyone find SS Mesh this hard or is it just me Steep learning curve applies to genesis stuff in general. Once you get it sussed you hardly ever have problems again because you learn to spot potential errors before they cause an issue. Took me about 15-20 goes or so before everything was just right when I first went to SS wicks. EDIT: I have concentration issues which didn't help me with it but I have now been on SS for over a year and hardly ever have problems now (fingers crossed).

found 0.16 kept popping used 0.2 everything fine, but will add have never had any of mine glowing !!! lol heres some tips:
when you coiled etc drip few bit of juice and fire it up for a few secs, repeat couple of times,
knurled nuts!! yes them, look at them you will find one side is actually domed, turn the top 2 over so both have flat surfaces, will help clamp and conductivity with wire
problem i find with drill bit method tunnel it leaves is to big,,take coil out and roll it a bit if ,its to tight push a saftey pin through center to open it a bit
