Was having a bit of a tidy out today and dug out a mini did clone. So I thought I'de have a muck about with a silica wick for it for a change. Just took a length of 2mm wick, coiled it at one end and fed the other end into the tank. It looks like a standard SS mesh setup, but with silica. Filled and primed it, blow me down, vaping like a train Wasn't sure if a straight up and down wick like that would really work, but it does.

I'm sure my mini did clone is just a pile of poop. I also tried this and I get a horrid metal taste. Yes, it works, but I never got it working with a SS mesh wick It also leaks from the bottom o ring seal so I had to patch it up with some plumbers tape.

Sounds like you were unlucky there, Chiller. I've just gone and tried it again and it's a really good vape. So I now have a use for my old clone

Your not the only one who had to use some plumbers tape on a Mini Did Clone, I had to do this myself, but I have managed to get rid of that horrible metal taste I was getting as well with a well used SS wick. :)

If you get a metallic taste, it is a sure sign of a hot spot or an incorrectly oxydised wick.

The wick hole is bigger so 3mm should work. An AGA does have more holes, so is better suited to wick through 2. The old clone only has 1 big enough hole, which is why I tried it.

Just used a old 3 weeks old SS wick, but I added a thin covering of cotton wool to the mesh, also I made sure that the wick was slightly bent over leaning towards the center post, I also made the wick a bit shorter than the post itself, I don't know if I was just lucky this time, but it's giving me a lovely vape :)

Will try it when i finish work here till 8pm boooo I used a piece of 2mm wick doubled over in the AGA and it works fine. Just twist the 2 ends together with a small piece of mesh then take it off the ends. Works a treat for me
