First off thanks to www.epuff.co.uk, good price and great next day delivery! Had a chance to have a little play with it and whilst it's not perfect it's very nice. Build quality: Battery tube is a very light alloy, almost as light as plastic but it is metal. The cap spring is too long and pretty tough, one hell of a job to get the battery in, but once it's in (sorry battery, being violated by the spring like that!) it certainly won't rattle! The threads are very well machined and t he finish is a really ice brushed finish so shouldn't attract juice paw prints like chrome would and it also helps with grip never feeling like you are about to drop it (good thing considering the cost.)The control ring has a little bit of play in it so gives a little rattle now and then and the usb port cover is as flaky as all plastic USB covers are (really is that the best anyone can do?) It's a pig to get back in and I suspect with constant opening and closing it won't last long :/ Currently I can't get it back in so I'm using it with the USB cover hanging open... a little annoying. The screen is lovely, easy to read outdoors in daylight even if it can't do j, g or p properly It's certainly a huge leap up from my LT! Software: Excellent! Doddle to install and update the firmware on the Evic (lovely!) Simple to operate and straight forward, have to remember to install it with the Evic connected to the USB though or it doesn't seem to pick it up later. I haven't tried playing with all the settings yet and after half a day not enough data to download from the Evic to make pretty graphs Using the software I've set the screen to display Watts, Volts, ohms and battery - perfect. No I still have no idea why anyone would ever use a puff counter! Vaping: It's a lovely vape, whilst using it the screen shows the time the button is pressed and the wattage (because I'm using VW) for a second or two after. Sounds useless but it's not. As you can set the Evic to run at different levels during a vape it's handy to know how long you generally puff for. I'm 4.5-5 seconds I haven't tried adjusting the levels in the software yet. The on board menu is fairly simple to operate but a little cumbersome at times but all of it can be done through the software which is brilliant! All in all I'm very pleased with it Especially as it's my first time with variable wattage and I love it. Got to admit though I think it does some clever maths stuff when you change heads and resistances because I've seen the output levels automatically adjust according to what's on it. If I understood more about ohms, volts and watts I'd be even more impressed, but needless to say it's "voodoo" is funky luckily, the Evic seems to be cleverer than me so it doesn't matter - I can still vape with it Next to the Lavatube.

You need some oil on those cuticles too, Kibbster. You don't want ouchy hangnails. Nice bit of kit you have there. Looks very impressive If I knew what to do with it and wouldn't be afraid of it, I'd probably want one too.

Another quick note: If you run Windows 8 64 then make sure you install it to Program files(x86) not program files where it tries to install to by default. Then you may have to run it as administrator. Windows 8 is pretty anal about it's permissions and program files. Seems to be a little more reliable at picking up when the Evic is connected via USB now. The USB cover is still rubbish though (tempted to rip it off before it drives me bonkers lol) Vaping away nicely now I've set a profile in the software to start at 10w and work it's way down every second to 4.7 watts. It means the opposite of how attys normally work, start cold and get hotter but I find it heats up quicker at 10w and then cools to avoid burning the juice. Works very well even if I have no idea if the power settings are correct, I can view the display in realtime as I'm vaping and watch the time and power drop

Just tested and doesn't work as passthrough, seems to disable the fire button when charging.

Just tested and doesn't work as passthrough, seems to disable the fire button when charging. It will work as a pass through when plugged into a USB power source other than the PC. I love mine now that the nasty tubes it comes with have been replaced with SS ones, in fact it has become one of my main go to devices. I have mine running in 18500 mode with a telescopic tube and with a kayfun 2.1 on top its just about ideal in size and its performance is spot on for me.
