is it just me or has anyone else noticed over the last couple of months that some people only comment in the classies to have a go at a seller . its pretty simple really , if you are not interested in buying then dont comment, why would you get funny with a seller unless you are trying to provoke a response . sorry for the rant but it gets on my nerves people trolling to get a bite

People will ask question etc or even a little light hearted banter after all it is a forum, but when it becomes abusive or outright insulting then that's a different matter, don't beat yourself up about it.

I pop into the classies a lot when shopping and i thought i'd come onto a different forum the other day. Some threads weren't as friendly as i know this forum to be.

Sadly it is becoming more of a problem, despite our best endeavours to keep the Classifieds as unregulated as possible, relying on Members to exercise their own self-moderation. Quite simply, if you don't want to buy something, then don't post on someone's sales thread. If you have concerns, then report the post/thread in question and we will deal with it if deemed necessary. All reports are dealt with in total confidence. This unpleasantness on the Classifieds has to stop, it's not indicative of how we work as a forum and leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

If someones asking to much for a particular item or product then giving them some advice will surely help them shift the item more quickly and at a fairer price plus they don't come across as trying to rip other members off .....just because you may not be interested in the item doesn't mean you shouldn't post on the thread ...........having ago at someone is not on I agree as the seller may not be aware or mistakenly be asking to much , you need to be civil and cut everyone abit of slack before jumping down their throats

There is that point of course yes. If it is overpriced just a friendly nudge to say check your price is no problem. I would hope someone would do the same for me if I sell anything as being a newbie to this game I dont really know the value of second hand gear.

A quick PM to someone or reporting a post/thread is maybe a less obtrusive way of going about things, if it looks like the situation could deteriorate by openly posting. It's common sense, manners, respect . . . call it what you will. But it is very upsetting to see how some threads have been completely and quite unpleasantly derailed, when we pride ourselves on being the friendliest internet vaping forum.

I rarely venture into the classifieds. The only reason I found this thread is because Chrissie posted a link from the lounge section. I haven't even gone looking for these threads mentioned here. All i will say is, market forces usually apply to most selling. If a person charges too much for something it doesn't sell. Simple as that!! They will eventually learn this over time. If you are offended by a price igonre it. None of your business really. Everywhere else in the trading world it happens. If i am looking for a new pair of boots, i compare prices, the dearest never gets bought. Why anyone would waste their time, energy and effort just to upset others is completely beyond me.

No idea what happened where, but a structured sellers post always helps. Maybe there should be a template made up for WTS & WTT-listing RRP, condition and age of item, clear photos, price and postage details etc., sellers discretion to deal with his choice of member etc., Always helps to keep unwanted comments at bay and weed out the real trolls.
I often see juices up for sale with no mention of expiry dates. For all I know they could be well past it without even the seller being aware unless his/her attention is drawn to it by making it mandatory to list the age of the item or atleast give it some thought.

I'm another who rarely goes near the classifieds threads, and like Blownupdolly, I haven't seen the threads referred to. I have a problem, however, with people being dissuaded from posting comments about items for sale provided the comments are civil. If I were selling something from a secondhand stall in a market, I would expect passers by to ask questions, make comments and buy or not as they choose. I wouldn't take umbrage at them or feel they were attacking me because if I did I wouldn't do much business. Why should I expect to be treated differently when selling on the internet where potential buyers don't even have the advantage of an up close view of the items on sale?
