They are pricing themselves high enough to the point of making low cost private couriers more viable unless they relax the size of the parcel to start from 30 mm..
They probably want less mail.

How come you use google docs? Do you book it onto Siebel once you collect the data? This is the easiest way for other people to input the data. I can transfer it to an excel sheet after. I had never heard of siebel, but I'm not in customer management. I'm more of a vigilante customer satisfaction representative. Looks like siebel will interface with iGoogle docs, so YUP.

Yep, the cost of privatizing a sector which is essentially a public service..Another thatcher-ism the people of the present are paying through their nose for alongside rail travel.
And now for RM expected to be sold off to a private company, it can only get worse. Even the USPS remains a Govt agency.

Sneaking privatisation by the back door - it's been going on for years.

Is there a business version of this - where we could input a list of 'signed for' numbers etc that had never arrived at destination. We are building up a large file and intend dealing with them all at once, so something like that would be very useful.

I am going to present the data as 'problem post codes' to see what we can do about it.

I've just posted 3 packets that IMO should have been fine as large letters, but I got stung for 2 of them as they wouldn't fit through the stupid slot!
She asked me if I could flatten them slightly, I said no, but could she not shove them through the slot. Not allowed to do that, they must clearly drop through the slot!
Rant over..... and breathe !

The reason the slot is the size it is, is because this is the size of the slot on the huge machines that sorts out all of the letters. If an item gets forced through the slot in the post office then goes into the machine in the sorting office it will tear it into shreds. Pretty simple reason behind it really. I know it sucks but thats how it is

Well now, it has started already on my patch. We used to have 2 collections daily 11.00am and 5pm, yesterday went to post something and there is a new notice saying, last collection from this box is 5pm, they have removed the one that said 11am collection.
