Yeah, maybe they'll take parcels to a local post office now instead of a sorting office 4 miles away.

Wish it was a joke, I use RM online postage and got the info. in an email, but just found the link on their site. We don't get the service we pay for as it is, there's no way a bl@@dy price rise will make any difference. RM need competition. www.royalmail.com/prices-2013 (Personal customers)

Ps the compensation is changing too. Rumour is that its going to be £20 for 1st and 2nd instead of £46.00 £50 for special delivery.

Guess they're ' losing out ' on the larger parcels/£2.70 weight bracket. I could cope with that, if they did something about that pathetically sized letter box thing for small parcels that will easily go through someone's letter box. They stopped paying out compensation on COP's a while back, unpubilised that . . . it's a move to push people into paying for Recorded/Special Delivery options.

There was too much small-item scamming going on, also.

I think the changes are terrible.
Thankfully for account users the packet size doesn't matter (or so I have been told). If the change happens it could cripple a lot of small businesses.
Still waiting to here how it will affect business collections that pay online using crl.

Here RM deliver anytime from 7.30am to 2pm - no point trying to wait in for it - generally means a trip to sorting office the other side of town
The price rise will be met by the buyer as we can't expect businesses to absorb it.
Make a bigger order less often maybe

The changes are to all accounts, including PPI. Although big Accounts like Amazon etc will have their own rates. The interesting bit is that although the max 8mm makes a big differerence there is a bit in the small print about 16x16x16cm cubes, Meaning a box with no dimension bigger than 16cm is still a small packet. A lot of people are talking about switching to couriers for medium, or larger packets at approximate half the price of RM And gaining the benefits of a tracked service with £50 plus in comp.

How come you use google docs? Do you book it onto Siebel once you collect the data?

Markm I heard that ppi accounts paid online were not being changed just yet, although the website is not very clear, it does a change is on the way. Apparently they will be assessed on an individual basis. Small businesses like myself will be hit the hardest. I can imagine anyone wanting to pay £6 for a £3.50 tutu skirt.
I managed to keep my prices the same last year, but will have to increase them big style this year, all of my packets are medium to large, but only weigh on average 259g, many a lot less. I have been looking into boxes, but can't find any at the maxium depth 8cm. If I can't find any I am sure my business won't survive, Chinese sellers can post theirs much.
