To be honest, it was a bit of a prototype to see what was possible. I may strip it again and get it all right down to the brass and get some more plumbing fittings in lol. Then again I may go for 22mm copper pipe. I really did like the contrast of the brass olives on the copper I reckon you should sell it and buy another 2xVamo with the proceeds to experiment on Interesting thought, it isnt really good enough to sell but I learned a lot doing it.

lovely job and glad to see you didn't try to sneak a naked picture in the background mirror Personally I think you should have gone with the steampunk look but a beautiful bit of craftmanship. Well done! It's come a long way since all that sanding you did To be honest, it was a bit of a prototype to see what was possible. I may strip it again and get it all right down to the brass and get some more plumbing fittings in lol. Then again I may go for 22mm copper pipe. I really did like the contrast of the brass olives on the copper Funny you say that, I took one down to the Brass and I love it, I polished it up and it looked great in my opinion, but I've since just let it tarnish, and imho I like it more I might have to go get some olive joints now robby I thank you, & I also thank you for that link great prices for do it yourself wraps nice find I thank you Sir.

Thanks for your comments James, appreciate it. Copper and brass do make a good combination. I wasnt sure about the olives when I got them but they polished up really well. Mine are brass because they were all that was available at the time in a multipack. I am pretty sure you can get them in copper but my impatience got the better of me when I started to make it. I think the richer colour of copper olives would have given a nice contrast against the gold wrap material. If I had gone all the way down to brass on the tubing, I wouldnt have needed to use the gold wrap. It is really hard to see a difference between the polished brass and the gold wrap colour. A good tip ref the olives is to actually put them in a compression joint and tighten it up a little. They are slightly oversized when you put them over the Vamo tubing and if you tighten up the compression joint a little at a time (then try them over the vamo tube), you can get a perfect fit. I didnt realise I could do that until after I had soldered the olives on, which was tricky because they moved. EDIT, you can actually tighten them up on the Vamo tube as you have access to remove the compression joint bits off either end of the tube when the electronics etc have been removed AND AGAIN lol........you could actually use both copper and brass olives, maybe copper at either end of the vamo and some brass ones somewhere along the tubing ANNNNNNNNNND lol.......you could use a collection of different size brass reducing joints to make a very heavy stand to let the Vamo sleep on (zzz), copper and brass fittings are quite expensive now though of course.
