That Thames Television opening just took me straight back! I loved Chocky but don't remember what it was about now, I know I watched it all the time though. (I have a bad memory) I loved all the sci fi programmes, The Triffids, Tripods and the fantastic Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy. Ah yes lee another one of my favs Hithc hikers guide shame the film ruind it i felt like ripping out my eyes when they made the film. And when the new Dr who came out i seriously dont like it when they make new things drives me up the wall as i feel as tho i shuld of been born way before the 80s as i have alot of series from 60s to the early 80s.

Interesting roachie..good song. I can always see Lynott performing "whiskey in the jar". I love the energy they put into that traditional song.
X2 Lee. Very sad about Gary Moore. Very strong blues man. That could rock it up with the best.

So Jules - you probably went on to wear midi/maxi skirts. I'll bet you had a tight perm in the early 80's. I'll bet you even had a ra ra skirt...lol

Roacie - you're stirring things up here mate. You'll be getting me in trouble.
I remember one summer. I think it must have been around 1980 when all the girlies were wearing white. White shorts. white leather mini skirts...ppppfffff. White dresses. I remember thinking how nice all the girls's legs looked that year. And i'm not even a leg man.

Yeah the small faces. excellent. I used to be in a band called "All or Nothing" named after the small faces smash hit. We used to wear fred perry polo shirts and "Levi stay press" trousers. And mainly cover Mod material - Poison Ivy- Down in a tube station at midnight - Eton Rifles - And a few ska songs too.

Well T Rex was my birth song and my musical taste has shot around all over the place since then. Didn't really think about music much when I was ickle up till I remember going bananas over Adam and the Ants. Still think Kings Of The Wild Frontier is excellent. Yes new romantics was part of my teenage years but so was rock - Iron Maiden, AC/DC etc. and quite strikingly gothic. My musical tastes still evolve continuosly but I still love all that eighties stuff - I still go to goth nights/festivals now and again as a "Trad Goth" and tell the young uns how I heard all the stuff first time round.

I agree with everything that Verey said Loved Adam, Loved my Docs, Loved Goth I also loved Freddie! How could anyone not admire a showman of his ilk? My OH is a huge Queen fan and didn't know that the last words on One Vision, are fried chicken! I bet him a tenner and ... ... ...I ended up paying for a takeaway, because he paid out on a bet ??? Anyhow the eighties float my boat, so have the dab tuned to absolute eighties most of the time, takes me back to school days and first loves, oooh Its amazing how many youngsters like it too
