I'm gonna show my age a little now. I thought the Jam were immense. Wellers a bit of a twit now. But wow. He was singing about my life and putting it across in a musically pumped and hooliganlike way. Awesome at the time. Sounds a little lame now though..lol. I thought i looked the bizz in my white fred perry and desert boots. I used to wear a trilby hat too. Made me stick out a bit too much though. I didn't mind dealing with the occasional t**t that couldn't seem to cope with someone wearing a hat. But jeeeeeez it just seemed to make me a target. I remember having a couple of Harrinton jackets and Jam shoes. I had a suit too with a neru collar. I set myself alight in it when i fell asleep at the end of a party with a fag on.....lol. Now if i'd been vaping....

LMHO Del . . . some of the get up's I used to wear - thought I looked the cat's whiskers as well. My hippie phase was quite an interesting one . . . used to waft around in voluminous cheesecloth smocks and bell bottom trousers, with triangular inserts of contrasting fabric in the seams. We used to have 'competitions' to see who had the widest bottoms on their trousers.

My best friend at the time, was loopy about Marc Bolan and T Rex Verey . . . I remember when he had his tragic accident . . . along with Phil Lynott, another great talent taken too soon.

Del you make me laugh!
I used to watch the Monkees and Banana Splits, they take me right back.
Here's some of my TV memories, I'd link some videos but there's too many.
I remember being scared witless/enthralled by Sapphire and Steel, Dr.Who, Blakes Seven and Chocky.
Other things I watched were the A-Team, Fall Guy, Knight Rider, Street Hawk, Airwolf and I loved Les Dawson, Morcambe and Wise, Benny Hill, Harold Lloyd films and of course Laurel & Hardy.
Being half chinese I was a big fan of Monkey and also The Water Margin.
I also loved The Generation Game and Blankety Blank. On the other side it would be Family Fortunes.
Kids TV I loved- Grange Hill, Supergran, Rentaghost, Metal Mickey, He man, Tiswas, Saturday Swap Shop.
I could go on forever! I do remember when I was a kid there were 3 channels on the TV, 3! BBC1, BBC2 and ITV.

Thin Lizzy were immense.
Interesting fact.........just before the first leg of a uk tour in the late 70's their guitarist was struck down with a mystery illness/virus. The band had to get a replacement for the whole tour. They tried several guitarists in the limited time they had before the first gig. In the end they settled on a 17 year-old kid called Midge Ure. He had about 3weeks to learn all the songs.

That Thames Television opening just took me straight back! I loved Chocky but don't remember what it was about now, I know I watched it all the time though. (I have a bad memory) I loved all the sci fi programmes, The Triffids, Tripods and the fantastic Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy.
