Health and Safety madness ! Manchester City Football Club have banned a season ticket supporter from their Etihad Stadium - and suspended his season ticket - for using an e-cig ! Okay, this might have been against the rules and perhaps merit the supporter being given a warning, but to put e-cig use on a par with pitch invasions and racist language is such an extreme over the top reaction that it simply beggars belief !mancunianmatters.co.uk/content/14039261-health-and-safety-madness-manchester-city-season-ticket-holder-banned-etihad-%E2%80%93-smokIdiots. If there are any Man City fans reading this, please contact the club to tell them how stupid this is - lift the ban, re-instate the season ticket and give the chap a warning instead.

According to one of the comments "the "fan" in question is both a bounder and a scoundrel"... So that's OK then...

It's against the rules and at a football match, understandable. Presumably he knew it was against the rules and did it anyway.
He could now claim he didn't know it was against the rules and hope to get back in that way.
I don't think it's fair to ban him like that and a warning would have been better, but they obviously want to make an example out of him and get the news out there that e-cigs aren't going to be tolerated.
We have to get it out of our heads that we should be able to vape wherever we want, just because we want to.

We have to get it out of our heads that we should be able to vape wherever we want, just because we want to. Indeed! Vaping is not illegal anywhere, but we should always act with decorum if we want vaping to be accepted! Being a vaper isn't an excuse to put 2 fingers up to rules, even if we don't agree with the rules! I hope the vaper in question was given a warning first? If he was, he should have respected the rules! If he wasn't given a warning first, then it really isn't fair at all!

When I next go to Crawley Town (yes I know haha) I will of course ask a steward if I can vape in the ground. I doubt I will be able to as they have recently banned someone for letting off a smoke bomb at an away match.
You should always ask for permission to vape, especially in a very controlled area I,e football stadiums, airports and such.

Vaping will only become widely accepted if we are polite about it.

If in this case. the club have indicated a ban on ecigs on the members card, he is in the wrong. If, like so many other places, there is no rules given (bylaws). Just do it.
