adding menthol crystals to pre-made juice?

I have 2 x 30ml bottles of already mixed & flavoured juice (both 80PG/20VG) that I'd really like to mentholate and have a couple of quick questions for experienced mixers

I was looking at these 2 brands of menthol crystals on amazon, Is there any difference or would both of those be ok?

I've read you can crush the crytals up into a powder to help it dissolve faster but if I was to transfer 5ml of the juice into a 10ml bottle how much of the powder should I add?

Hi Adam, I have the care brand myself. Personally I would add some crystals to an empty 10ml bottle, about 1/5 of the way up and then fill with PG. Give it a good shake until all the crystals dissolve and then add this to your pre mixed a drop at a time until you get the desired menthol flavour.

thankyou both, will order some PG too then any tips on a good brand or vendor? obviously I want PG that is as flavourless as possible

there seems to be 2 types on amazon & ebay, "Di-Propylene Glycol" & "Mono Propylene Glycol", do I want the Mono PG?

Say I filled a 10ml bottle half the way up with menthol crystals crushed as fine as I can get them, then topped up that bottle with PG and let it dissolve. Roughly how many drops do you think I would need to add to a 10ml bottle of pre-made juice to give a nice strong menthol blast

The menthol crystals are strong, believe me. I would advise against crushing them up tbh. If you filled a bottle half way I wonder if they would still disolve the same? A bit like to much sugar in tea ect, if you add to much it dosnt always dissolve. As for the PG, I order mine of eBay, 100% Pharma grade. Brb ill go find a link.

strong is good though if I'm making up a PG liquid I can add in drops right? I'm hoping to add as few drops of PG as possible so I don't start reducing the nic level too much

adding 1 or 2 drops of super strong menthol into a 10ml bottle of juice would be preferable to me, rather than having to add say 10-15 drops of a weaker menthol.

You will be limited to the saturation point of the PG liquid.... I have posted a "How to" herelook at reply Number 4.....

If you over saturate the PG with too many crystals, they will disolve (when warmed) but start to reform when cool.

I have just done this recently with boots menthol crystals. I filled a 10ml bottle about a third of the way up with crystals then added straight pg. I then put it into the micro wave for about 3 secs. The resulting menthol juice is spot on, not to strong nor weak. It has kept as a liqued form a week later. Though i cant use it as im PG intolerant

You can crush the Crystals and add them to Vodka instead BA, take a bit longer to dissolve . . . but you'd still get a usable Menthol concentrate with voddie.
