I can't imagine this will be on there for long, don't ebay have a no e cig policy? They do indeed Hesta, although that's where many of us on the forum first came across ecigs. Chrissie had an Ebay group on there, then when Ebay introduced their policy, she had to sort an alternative out pronto as no links where allowed to be posted either in the group or on the Boards.

Chrissie's the better person to give the definitive reply on that, as she was there from the very beginning so to speak. I turned up later to the vaping party.
But my understanding was, that Ebay being a US governed company, the Americans were going through all sorts of angst over the safety of ecigs . . . so they had a knee jerk reaction and banned the sale of devices and associated products.
It caused many Sellers at the time, who had invested in stock considerable problems as they were left high and dry. Although some did go on to having their own websites.
A huge pity in many ways that they did adopt the policy as Ebay has such a wide audience. There were a couple of massive threads that ran on the Community Boards that spread the word and got many a smoker ' converted '.

pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/tobacco.html#guidelinesThat's their policy on it, it includes e cigs. Could only speculate on why, maybe they don't want to be associated with smoking, or maybe it's to do with not selling to minors, I just skimmed the article so maybe it says why in there.

I did wonder - I can understand them not allowing sale of juice perhaps but not the associated paraphernalia! They are ok with wick and kanthal wire so where is the line drawn?
Sorry - answered before I even got the question asked!!
They allow nicotine patches and gum which seems a little contradictory....

It states 'no tobacco or tobacco related products'??? E-cigs surely then don't come into that category.

i think it's because they are not regulated or recognised by official government bodies, ie: it put them in their banned items

Regulated or not, a lot of people are making very good profits from the sale of e-cigs etc, and I can see Ebay wanting a piece of the action in the not too distant future.

In the states, e-cigs were classified as a tobacco product in a court ruling & that's when ebay banned them from being listed. As Mandy says, I first set up All About E-Cigarettes as an eBay group in October 2008. The group is still there - community.ebay.co.uk/clubforum!boards.jspa?forumID=18000022092 but as good as dead due to being given a warning in October 2009 that all links to e-cigs had to be removed from the group

There are a few kits on there now so they have been able to list them under the 'Quit Smoking' cat that's where my ego kit is going to be sold
