Well, my Riva 1100 kit + Kanger EVOD + Vision Ego v3 arrived from vapeescape. My 4 juices arrived from vapourtine. Am LOVING the chocolate cream in the Vision, but we'll get into that in another post. I may have a charging issue:- I put the first battery on charge as such: - Screw battery into charger
- Plug charger into computer - nothing.
- Plug charger into hub on another machine.
- Red light comes on on charger.
- After 1 second or so, battery flashes 3 times.
- 6 hours later, red light is still lit on charger.
At this point, I have swapped batteries, and exactly the same, only its been on charge for just under an hour. According to Romelee's guide the charger light should have started green, then turned red to indicate charging. Not sure about charging time (think I read somewhere it's 4 hours?), but the light never turned green and surely it should be charged in 6 hours? Have checked the charger spec (4.2V 450mA) and the hub has at least 1 amp spare (2.5A supply) at 5V, so I dont think its a power issue. Any help would be much appreciated, cheers. ps - Is it safe to leave charging overnight? pps - loving the Kiwi Mix in the clearo on the 2nd battery

I can't help you as far as the riva batteries go ..however my ego takes about 7hrs to charge ...when its almost there the red indicator appears orange ..then eventually it goes green ..but it does seem to take an eternity ...and all the advise says not to leave them unattended while charging ..so no overnight I'm afraid ..I'm sure someone will pop along shortly and give you much better advice

maybe mistaken but i thought red is charging and green/blue on some adapters is charged Yeh he said the red light is still on after 6 hours. Seen as its the same on both then it would mean its the charger. Are you plugging it into a wall plug? Any USB wall adaptor will work, ie phone, iPad (other tablets are available ) etc. If not give that a go tomorrow, and no you shouldn't leave them on charge over night, especially as there could be an issue with the charger.

With some batteries the very 1st charge can take a very long time. I am not sure the reasons why or should I say cannot remember the reasons why but is to do with the chemistry of the battery. Apparently it is a good idea to fully charge before 1st use, then use until it is down to its minimum voltage ( 3.3 volts or whatever the cutoff is) , recharge fully which will take forever the 1st time and then use as normal with smaller discharges and charge cycles being better for long life. I certainly have always found the 2nd charge to be very much quicker than the 1st. So it could just be this you are witnessing. Also some chargers/battery combinations require you do plug the charger in 1st and then the battery, some the battery 1st, and most do not care which order. I have also had some batteries which when brand new would after a few minutes show green, and then when disconnecting and reconnecting would start charging again and be fine. It is as if they need a kick start sometimes when brand new.

if the charger is at fault try checking the battery by 1 firing up 2 multi meter for voltage check I've had batts that needed longer than 6 hrs so sat them on charge next to work station to keep an eye on them. there is a possibility they were close to completing the charge cycle so try them as above for safety reasons try not to leave them overnight (you are not aware if they go bad) try and set them up for another charge in the morning in a place where you can take a glance for the green light

When the battery is charging the light is re, when it's finished charging it turns green.
Riva & ego batteries come with an almost full battery charge, so it sounds to me like you have a faulty charger.

I believe the batteries are already 75% charged when you receive them so should only take about 45mins for a full 100% charge, unless something has changed.
The charger light should be green when you plug the cable into your p.c and then when you screw your Riva into the charger it should turn red and then back to green once fully charged.
Again this is based upon nothing has changed with the Riva's and Chargers.
Even a full charge should take no longer than 2hrs, to me it sounds like the charger.
p.s Don't charge overnight unattended.

I have a Riva kit which I got recently.
Plugged both batteries into my computer when I got them, and they fully charged within 20-30 mins each. When first charging the light is red, and the battery flashing three times. Once charged it changes to green.
The first battery lasted 6 and a half days, and when I charged it via the computer USB, it was fully charged again within about 2.5 hours.
There is a fault somewhere, can't help with where. Contact Vapeescape and ask them. I am sure they will be able to help and swap out faulty equipment.

OK - been a busy morning, but I'll be back in the real world in about an hour - roll on the weekend! So, before I plug into the Kindle charger instead of usb, can someone who has very recently got the Riva kit from vapeescaape please confirm the LED status of their confirmed working charger: - Powered up - no battery attached
- Powered up - battery attached - guide says should staart green, then red to show charging, then green when done.
Mine shows RED from the moment it is powered up until I unplug it - battery connected or not. Only change at all, is the battery flashes 3 times as power gets to it - this is the only bit I think is working correctly. I'll wait on getting back in an hour, for any more help, but looks like I might have to contact Jason at vapeescape though. Apart from that, I've not run out of power yet, but deffo dont want to be over-charging the batteries. See yous later.

Ive got an ego recently, similar to the Riva. Mine goes green when plugged in, and no battery attached. It then turns red when the battery is attached and the battery light turns on.
Then once charged the charger goes green and the battery light turns off. Not the same as the Riva but similar enough to say there's a fault with the charger.

Does sound as though your charger is not working correctly.
I have a Riva and its green when attached to power, then when attach a battery, the battery flashes 3 times then the charger changes to red, when finished charging turns green.
I charge my Riva and eGo batteries on the Riva charger.
Contact Jason at Vape Escape, he will be able to help you.

OK - This is getting weirder - or maybe not.
Have plugged it into the Kindle plug, and get the expected green light before it turns red, so looks like I'm making progress! (Probably not enough power from the USB hub?)
However, now it appears to be charging, the RED LED seems to be very slightly flashing at about 1/2 second intervals (kinda hard to explain)- is this normal, or am I just worrying too much now, as I caused myself issues with the power supply? Will, keep an eye on it, and see if it goes green in a bit, but is this 'flashing' normal? - not tested the 2nd battery on it yet, but will do in a bit.
Away to vape some more Chocolate Cream and contemplate the situation.....

I would say keep a eye on it, it sounds quite promising Edit: The flashing from red to green normally means it is almost complete and will soon turn too solid green.

Yeah, I have the kit from VE as well, mine kind of 'pulses' to green when nearing full charge.
Edit; just tested mine, it starts on green when no battery attached, red once battery is attached, green again when fully charged.
