Phildo - have you double checked the drip tip screws in properly on this one you have? If you have a CE4, it won't just push in. They don't normally leak out of the drip tip, unless you've lost the thread or something weird. Well.....That just shows me to search for a solution before I ask. After your comment, I went and searched for a video about the clearomiser and saw them turn it.... Tried it, and seems to have fixed the problem.....what a dolt I am! I will keep an eye on it over the next day or too, but it does seem to be the solution. Thanks! Just as a follow up and slightly related topic. It feels to me that the carts offer a better throat hit than the clearomiser. Does anyone else find that? Does it heat up more? Or perhaps the lesser amount of liquid makes for better vapour and throat hit? (Its the same juice, so can't be that)

Hi Folks I have a Riva 1100 Deluxe set, and so far have been using cartomisers, until I settled on a juice. Well, I settled, its the Stealth Juice(With cooling) for www.juice-kitchen.co.uk A flavourless juice, which I really like. So I thought I would fill up the clearomiser. I filled it up, letting it settle and then started using it, and all seemed fine. A few hours later I took it out of my pocket, to see it empty. That's weird I thought, but assumed it had soaked right through, and this might be normal. So filled it again. But the same thing is happening, and I have discovered that it has leaked out. The drip tip seems very loose, and is opening slightly in my poscker and the juice is flooding out. As its only 1.6 ml, I am not feeling it. I like the convenience of the clearomiser, as it is easy to fill, but not that I am loosing all that liquid (I am a pretty low user, and only use about 1-2ml a day, so I have lost a couple of days worth today!) With the carts I leave the rubber stopper on the end, and just uncap it when it comes out of my pocket, but with the drip tip being so loose on the clearomiser, even with a cap on it, it is coming undone and leaking. Is there any clearomiser out there that have a screw in leak free drip tip that will fit the Riva? I could go back to carts, and live with it, but would rather find a solution if possible. Any advice welcomed! Thanks Phildo

Hi phildo. Well done mate. That is great news. I am amazed at 6 days before a re charge. Flavourless e liquid. So you are vaping it as is your not adding your own flavours to it? Sent from my Galaxy Note 2 Yes. For me, smoking (when I smoked) and vaping was never really about taste or smell(in fact i hated the smell, even when smoking). It was about throat hit and feeling in the lungs. So flavourless is perfect for me, as long as it is not nasty tasting, then it suits. I thought about mixing my own up, but buying it from Stew is only going to cost about a pound a week as I use so little, so rather than faff around and maybe making a nasty product, I think its safer and easier to buy it. I have only tried the flavourless (without cooling effect) so far, and I like it. Its only been a day so I can't fully judge, but the only downside is that you are not entirely sure when the cart is running low, as the taste does not diminish(because they is not one!). Obviously it would start to burn when bone dry. I think the cooling effect will work better as you will notice a reduction in the cooling effect, which will tell you it is time to top up. Obviously a clearomiser would be fine as you can see the level. But I only have one of those, and am waiting till I settle on a juice before I use it. Phildo

I have a Riva kit which I got recently.
Plugged both batteries into my computer when I got them, and they fully charged within 20-30 mins each. When first charging the light is red, and the battery flashing three times. Once charged it changes to green.
The first battery lasted 6 and a half days, and when I charged it via the computer USB, it was fully charged again within about 2.5 hours.
There is a fault somewhere, can't help with where. Contact Vapeescape and ask them. I am sure they will be able to help and swap out faulty equipment.

Guys,
Thought I would post a quick update.
I got the kit On Thursday 15th March, and the first battery only just ran out! That's 6 and a half days on one battery. That amazes me.
As far as consumption is concerned, I am a low vaper. I got two 10ml bottles, and have only used half a bottle, so less than 1 ml per day. And that is me vaping as much as I want/need.
On the basis of that consumption, there seems little need to mix my own as the cost saving would be negligible.
I ordered a few bottles of flavourless from Stew at Juice Kitchen (One with cooling effect and one without), so will try those, but he is able to do a 50 ml bottle for £12.50, and on current consumption that will last at least 2-3 months.
Not tried the clearomiser until I settle on a juice, and have only used 1 cart the whole time, just topping it up with 8-10 drops roughly everyday.
So I am a happy bunny indeed. Thanks for all the help guys! Phildo

Hi Folks
Has anyone tried using their charging cable with an Apple Iphone plug?
In theory it should work as it is just a 5 volt conduit to charge USB devices...... so IPhone(obviously), Kindle etc.
But would it work with e cig batteries? Any experience?
Phildo
(I have a Riva 1100 kit, if that makes a difference)

I have found so far that I seem to be a pretty light vaper. Vaping about 1ml a day, so I am questioning the need to make my own, as it is not going to take much to sustain my habit.
I ordered 2 10ml flavourless from Stew at Juice Kitchen, one with cooling effect and one without, to see how i get on.
But I can order 50ml from him for £12.50, which would last me almost 2 months, so there doesn't seem to be much saving in making my own.
I read a couple of good reviews of his, so I will report back.

Hi Folks It might sound a strange request, but I am looking for some flavourless E Liquid. Juice kitchen sells it for £2.99 for 10ml, which is reasonable, but I am interested in making my own. I am fairly confident I know what I am doing (Even without having done it before) I watched lots of video's and it looks simple enough. I have a ton of blunt syringes and used to using them (I am fountain pen nut, and use them all the time for this). Would it just be the case of adding nic base PG and VG together? (obviously I would research the exact quantities, for the right 60/40/18mg mix) Or would I be best to add some sweetener? I am after something that can be vaped, with a decent amount of smoke, but leaves no discernible smell. Also, all the bottles I have seen on video's etc, seem to be huge, can you buy smaller bottles? Ideally I would buy enough to make up say 5X30 ml bottles of it, and then it would be gone. So I can keep the mix bottles without having other bottles of chemicals lying around. and then when I am on my last bottle, I can always order more, and mix it up again. Thanks in Advance Phildo Unlike analouge cigs the smell from vaping disapears almost straight away and if you were using a menthol / minty flavour it would be no more obvious than the smell created when you are chewing gum or eating strong mints etc. I vape regular at work etc and find the only tell tale sign is the amount of vapour (smoke) the hovers above you, a few people have notice the vapour cloud but to be honest no one has ever commented on the smell. Tried no flavour juice by accident once and it tasted totally rank, if you want to stealth vape I would just use less VG to reduce the cloud Stu The smell is much less, but still detectable, even I can smell it on me. Maybe it has been the brands I bought (Silky and RY4 from Vape Escape), but they stay around the face, and even on clothes. And I am not a fan of it. I would prefer it to be tastless.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I am fairly anal retentive about these things. I watched lots of videos to make sure I knew what I was doing and read the guide.
I used the condom method to fill it, although found it very messy in comparison to dripping.
In response to comments. I am sure it is a cartomiser, and sure I had filled it enough ( looked like slush inside), I didn't get any down the centre hole and blew out the centre hole into a tissue.
Thanks Phildo

Hi Folks
Got my Riva1100 kit today(From Vape Escape, Great fast delivery!), and first thoughts are that I am impressed. I put it together fairly easily, and got it working in no time. Good build quality, although physically it is a lot longer than I am used too.
I have been using the empty carts so far filled with juice(Silky) I ordered with the kit. But I have a couple of (probably stupid) questions.
1. I filled it with the prescribed 30 drops, and seemed to be fine. But within a short time (Maybe 10 draws) it felt like it had a burning taste, so I topped it up with another 8 drops, and seemed ok again. But the drops don't seem to last a long time. I have maybe taken 30 draws today, and already had to top it up 4 times. does this sound right?
My old ecig (Ultra Vape), a cart would last a day and a half. I am not that heavy a vaper. I tend to take about 3 draws, then put it away again for half an hour or so.
2. When I draw it kind of crackles, and occasionally pops (like popping candy), which while it doesn't bother me too much, just feels weird. I am assuming it is just firing up but Again, is this normal?
3. I am interested in flavourless liquid, and I saw the Juice kitchen, sells it for £2.99 for 10ml. I have watched a few video's on making your own liquid, and feel fairly confident I could do it as it would just be PG, VG and Nic base. Do you think this would be significantly cheaper?
Sorry if these are newbie questions. Thanks in advance!

I thought the claims must be exaggerated before I bought them.
Even when smoking, I would only smoke a max of 7-10 a day, so I would not expect to be vaping that much.
One cart lasting a day and half still sounded too much. As on that basis I was smoking the equivilent of 30 a day, and even in my early twenties on a night on the drink I wouldn't smoke 30.
I am not sure how much I will use with the riva, we will see.

Hey Folks
I have been using Ultavape Cartomisers, and seem to have one cart last about a day and a half roughly.
I will be ordering the Riva 1100 kit once it is back in stock, and will be ordering some liquid to go along with it.
and I am trying to guage how much usage I would be going through.
Does anyone know the capacity of the ultra vape disposable cartomisers?
I am guessing it would be about 2 ml, so would I be right and say if I bought juice, I would be using just under 2ml per day? (assuming no change in usage)
Thanks in advance!

Guys
Thanks for the quick responses!
Looking through the information that has been given and looking at both kits, it seems to be between the VE Riva 1000 Deluxe kit and the Innokin Itaste. Both around the same price (£34.95 & £37 respectively)
Neither are in stock just now, and will take about a week to come back in, and I have enough carts to do me till then, so I have time to think about it.
I have a few questions:
The Riva seems to be standing out as a clear winner as it has two batteries (1100 mAh against 800mAh. I presume the 1100 will last longer? and there is 2!)
The Riva seems to come with a clearomiser and cartomisers. So I would have a choice which I use? I could pre-fill the 5 cartomisers, which would see me through a good few days? Or is there an advantage to the clearomiser?
How many refills would a clearomiser or cartomiser need before needing replaced? (I know its not an exact science)
The Innokin has a variable voltage. I see the obvious benefits, but is that a major boost? The downside being only one battery. It also seems to have a spare clearomiser, so I could have one pre-filled?
I assume both can use any e-liquid? I see in the classified's there can be special offers on cheaper liquids.
I think that is all my questions.
Thanks so much for your help guys. very much appreciated! Phildo

Hi Guys
I actually gave up smoking cold turkey back in October 2012, but have battled with cravings, and although I never gave in, it has been driving me mad.
I thought a good alternative would be E-Cigs.
I bought a 10Motives disposable to try, and enjoyed it. It is great being able to use it around the house undetected (Keeping it quiet just now)
I decided to venture into the rechargeable market and bought a cheap starter kit.
I have been using UltraVape for a few weeks now, and am enjoying them. Throat hit is ok(could be better though), flavour is ok(just normal tobacco flavour). Only having 1 battery is a bit of a pain, but so far I am only needing to charge it couple of days.
While changing the refills is easy, ideally I would look for something which is a little more economic.
I am looking for a kit, that hopefully doesn't cost that much(is under £30 possible?), that ideally could do the following:
1. Doesn't look strange. (Maybe its because I am new, or maybe it is psychological, but It seems unusual to not have it look slightly cigarette shaped) 2. Decent battery Length(few days worth) 3. Cheap to run (I don't mind refillable, as long as I can fill enough to get me through a weekend) 4. Not have anything that conspicuous ( with Ultavape all I have is the e cig (in pocket), the USB charger (in a box in a drawer), and spare carts (Hidden away) ), so I don't want any big boxes, certainly nothing cigarette box like. 5. Because it is in my pocket, something that will not leak (I like the little rubber stopper on the end of the carts, that you have to take off) 6. Something that is low maintenance. I have seen mention of home made wicks etc. I want something that is easy, and quick to remedy/change.
I understand that all of the above might be a tall ask, so I might not have an alternative to stay as I am. If that is the case, is there a cheaper alternative than £8.99 for 5 carts?
They say they are equivalent to 40 cigs, but that is not true. I am probably using it more than I used to smoke, but I suppose that is because I have more access to it than I did normal cigs (no smell detected).
But I used to smoke about 7 a day, and these carts are lasting 3 days max. And although I haven't counted, I would say I am lucky if I am getting 200 puffs (they claim 300)
Any advice gratefully received.
And Thanks in advance Phildo
