Just got mine today, it's very similar to a bulli in overall design except that the very small screws to fix the coil go in at the side of the terminal posts, while the wire itself pokes into the hollow tops of the posts, so a tiny watchmaker's screwdriver is needed.
I don't object to this design at all, but would probably have been spitting tacks if I didn't have a tiny screwdriver already. (In a bulli the screws have larger heads and screw in from the top, and you wrap the wire around the screws themselves.)
Build quality seems fine so far, though the wick it came fitted with was primitive, suitable for dripping perhaps. I think an ss or ss+fibre spike wick is probably desirable for use with tanks. When I tried it out, 1ml in the A type tank just emptied straight into the main chamber, and I'm supposing this could be a more civilized process with a proper spike wick in place.
I don't see how type B tanks can fit this without a different top cone. Haven't tried one I admit, because I don't have one.
Good price for a rebuildable and I'll be playing around with different wick configurations for ages. Need some ss mesh for the spike I think, to use this seriously with tanks.
Thanks Callum.

I've had this for a couple of days now. I was impressed by the solid feel and finish of it for the money. The first snag was that the tank that came with it had no bottom cap. Fortunately I noticed this or I would have suffered the same fate as 2risky! I fitted another type A tank I had and just tried it as it came. I persisted through about half a tank and although it improved a bit it was pretty terrible to be honest - it just wasn't wicking properly. When you take it apart you see that the end bit of the coil wick sticks up the spike and this was just not working - it is also extremely fiddly to get it back up there!
I just tucked all the wick around the coil and stuck an Imist wick up the spike (a small wick with a mesh surround). This made a dramatic difference! After a bit more running in this is now working very well. I also found the type A tank was a very tight fit, so I changed it for an Imist tank - much easier to adjust.
In effect, I have finished up with a re-buildable Imist lol. It is as good if not better than an Imist, so I am well pleased with it and will see later what it is like to re-coil and what effect that has. Here it is on a Riva:

Nice piccy Dave..Looks like that RIVA has taken a knock or two.. A two wick configuration works better with these for ease of use and cleaning.. The wick in the spike must touch the bottom wick or dry and burnt hits will be common..Shame they drilled the air hole where they have..On the vertigo the holes are drilled in the design reliefs in the knurling..For the type B you need a different sleeve in response to 2risky's comments earlier..A ego-c type B sleeve/cone should fit if anyone wants to try it..

The Riva has taken just one knock macca lol. I should have posed it better!
No doubt at all that the two wick configuration works better - especially with a bit of mesh round the spike wick.

I did put a tank cap on before I tried it! It still emptied. The point really was the one you are both making - using it with tanks it's vital to build a good spike wick to regulate flow out of the tank. Scott's vid for the bulli has a good method, so I'll try it when I get around to ordering some steel mesh. Edit: vid here I found it a doddle to redo the main coil, really simple. I'll also try to get hold of a type B cone (somehow, not sure how the threading will work out, maybe Callum will stock some that fit?) and B tanks, which will make it really versatile and hopefully competitive with 1.6ml Visions which are still my main squeeze. This one is more for experimental fun at the moment.

I just tried it on my vertigo..It looks like the Type B ego cones which have a 12 x 0.5 threads will not fit..
The thread on these is coarser and look like 12 x 0.75..So scratch that..

How do these compare to the Vivi Novas - anyone?

Different beast really, more physically robust and more technical than the Vivi, which is more a mass market item with some replaceable parts.
This is closer to a fully rebuildable iMist, designed to allow completely customised rewicking and coiling.

Sorry 2risky - I didn't mean to imply you forgot the cap - just that the result would have been the same! I never used them but I believe this was a perennial problem with the old tank systems, I guess it depends on what happens when you pierce them. That is another big advantage of using an Imist tank as just the right size hole is already there.
I was going to use the Bulli method, but I've got loads of Imist wicks, they fit perfectly, so it was a nice easy solution that achieves pretty much the same result I guess.
I've not used the vivi very much, but I found they were OK when you re-wicked them yourself. I'm not very keen on big tanks so I much prefer this.

Thanks 2Risky, appreciate your help, and ideas on differences in taste? I mean out of the box, no modding?

Dunno if it comes coiled and built but a re-buildable is not for an out of the box experience..This is a ego-t/c/imist type bottom coil gravity fed design. If you get the wick setup right, it'll vape great..It can also be used as a direct dripper..
The VIVI is a top coil..It'll be completely different vape, like stated before, it's a different animal..So really down to personal preference..
